Why is it that there is only 1 route that goes to wolverhampton (#126) ?! Solihull has many routes which serve it so do Walsall, Sutton Coldfield, Dudley.

Do you mean from Birmingham (I presume). The 79 used to run to Birmingham down Soho Rd but was cut back to West Brom.  Many use the Tram or train from Wolverhampton. The bus takes a lot longer so not as many use it all the way to B'ham.

Presumably NX are keen for people to use the Metro, hence why you only have the 126!
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Yes, Solihull has many routes from there to Birmingham, but any 'sensible' person wanting to travel between the two would only normally use the 37 or 957.

Routes like the 5, 31, 70; 72 & 73 only serve both places for operating convenience on the basis that people in the middle of the route  need to go to both places, so it is easier to serve them with a through route than seperate routes to both Birmingham & Solihull

To be fair, I always understood the termination of the 79 at West Bromwich had more to do with the difficulties of keeping to time on such a long route. Hopefully the 126 won't suffer the same fate and be cut in 2, the upcoming Birchley Island roadworks may be a nightmare though on the 126.

Well yes the Soho Road always caused problems on the 79, but then it had always seemed to cope in the past. I remember when the 74/9 were every 6 minutes on a Saturday, now that was chaos, buses everywhere!

Surely the 79 would get to Wolverhampton quicker, than a 93 minute journey on the 126? I mean, Bitmingham to West Brom, in off-peak hours, seems quite bearable & relatively quick.

As the off-peak 74 takes 38 minutes Birmingham to West Bromwich and the off-peak 79 takes 59 minutes West Bromwich to Wolverhampton - No it wouldn't

I thought it was a topic worth mentioning after a friend asked which bus goes to Solihull .......... ! Then I remembered only 1 goes to Wolverhampton from the Centre !

Nice to see it's got people talking although i would think 1 journey on the 126 would be better than 2 bus journeys but then again i believe the 126 dips down into Bearwood before heading up North buts it's an interesting thought.

@Liam, 2007 was peak time extra board 59/14. If a Trident isn't available in time for it to depart garage at 15:03 then a B7RLE or Spectra usually get allocated.
