Yes, they need bigger buses! I often observe MPDs on the 142 with standing room only. If it wasn't for the narrow turns/roads in Colley Gate it could do with larger buses in the daytime.

Deckers wouldn't be much more difficult than midibuses. It may have escaped your attention, but Diamond don't have any.

I have not ever seen a full size single decker used on Diamond's 142. It is only a couple of turns which I think would be difficult. I don't know where this 247/248 went but perhaps it took a slightly different line of route, avoiding those turns. If not then you are correct, I don't know...

The 142 had a period of having nifty fifty branded centro's for about three months going back to 2012.

Also full sized darts have appeared on there as well P827BUD being an example from a while back. Seeing the 142 loading in Halesowen today makes me think that this size of vehicle needs to be brought back onto the route as MPDs are clearly too small for mostly elderly passengers who are not going to want to stand...
