Ash

30202 sounds better when your on board than it does when you hear it go past also when the 08 reg b7rle entered service the air breaks used to be going off very regularly not sure it's suppose to be doing that so often as it was.

30808 still missing, Cadet 30202 filling in on the 002 today.

Ooh thats a bad cadet that one as Ive said before shakes really badly when idling meaning drivers keep foot on the pedal. Mind you at speed that one isnt awful. was on YD02PZJ yesterday and interior was great and sounded ok as well but when idling it occasionally sounded like it was about to cut out. Had an original BCC poster on inside of destination box as well-should have got a picture

Had 30202 on the 4H around Hayley Green quite a while back and it really struggled up the hills. Not a good bus

They all do to be honest

More than the other ones, though.

I havent been on a single one that goes up hills well to be honest-EKM is probably the best but thats because ludlows looked after their stuff. Darts over cadets any day

Ash

30209 (YD02PZJ) will rarely go on to the 4/4H/4M last time it was on there it lasted half a day in service the bus seems to overheat alot and with the terrain of the 4H and 4M struggles to cope so is usually on the 40/42/43 or 301 service. 30207/11/13/14/16/18 are the cadets that mostly stick to the 4/4H/4M with the others on the 301 and West Bromwich services.

i got this yesterday and it was ok tho the engine at idle sounded like it was about to cut out. It was absolutely thrashed on the 4H yesterday though-this one as Ive mentioned still has old bcc posters inside so worth a ride imo. 202 is on the 4 a lot as well though I agree that the others especially 201 are kept on other routes. Interestingly enough, the vgx darts are often on the 4M-?most difficult of the 4's? Certainly long running time and no real time for breaks-because they are very reliable fantastic buses

Ash

Yeah the VGX darts are really the only red and white darts that get used on the 4/4H/4M even V377/391HVV rarely get used on the 4 these days.

The EBDs are regularly on there though even though there not dda compliant theyre in good condition

Ash

I thought they were DDA compliant as there in the 30xxx series of fleet numbers it is the 31xxx series that don't have the ramp. They also have the specific places including head rest boards for wheelchairs. R530/2YRP were 2 buses that were not compliant.

No i thought that as well but they have no ramps at all and that fleetnumbering system also declares SN05FLR 21009 to be non-dda which is nonsense

the yrp ones were brilliant to be honest-to be honest to convert these to dda wouldnt take that much effort the same with the ex first pointer 2's which are also in great condition.

Ash

R530YRP/R532YRP were becoming a bit unreliable get braking down before they moved to select bus or wherever they have ended up. I didn't realise there was no ramp for T443/7EBD my mistake, some of the V reg ex touchwood connection darts must be Ok and be put to good use somewhere in the fleet instead of just rotting away.

PM

On the topic of where the yrp's ended up there are a lot of diamond buses i never know where they actually end up-R954JYS being an example-repainted and refurbed and then vanished without trace

And no worries Ash. I agree about the V reg touchwood darts that they should be returned to service-admittedly some were a bit slow but others were very good especially internally as some darts are showing their age a bit. My plan for the rotala fleet would center around trying to sell old MPDs and cadets and solos instead of dda compliant darts

Ash

Quite a few darts ended up with nu-venture such as W448DOP and X639AKW

Cheers Ash-at least if you type in these registrations you get something whereas with the yrp darts you get absolutely nothing, same with most of the ffc darts as well
