QuotePlease note that due to flooding, Crowngate Bus Station is closed and there are changes to all services.

Please see below for details:

DUE TO THE CLOSURE OF WORCESTER CITY CENTRE BRIDGE, DOLDAY, TYBRIDGE STREET, NEW ROAD AND CROFT ROAD, CROWNGATE BUS STATION HAS BECOME INACCESSIBLE. BUSES WILL THEREFORE BE DIVERTED IN THE CITY AND OPERATE FROM ONE OF TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS.

 St. Nicholas Street Bus Stop (opposite McDonalds) : Services 31A (arrivals), 31C (departures), 144, 294/295, 303, 758, W1

 Cathedral Roundabout Bus Shelter : 26/27, 30/31 Special Flood Service, Services 31A (departures), 31C (arrivals), 32, 33/34, 35, 39, 44/44A/44C, 308, 310, 350, 356/357/358, 362, 363, 364, 382, 417, 420, 550/551 (NEW UPDATE)

SCHOOL TRANSPORT :

TO HANLEY CASTLE HIGH SCHOOL : All school transport services to Hanley Castle High School will attempt to operate, however some routes will need to operate in reverse order and then divert via the Southern Link Road in Worcester as Upton Bridge is closed. Students at Severn Stoke will be collected by Astons Coaches instead of the 362 bus. All students should be collected by 08:30am at the latest (otherwise parents should make their own way if not collected by that time). The school will be operating a shorter day, from 09:50 hrs start to 15:00 hrs finish, to allow time for the buses to divert around the various flooded roads.

TO UPTON PRIMARY SCHOOL : All school transport services to Upton Primary School will collect students at normal times, then divert via the A38 " Southern Link Road " Powick roundabout " Callow End " Hanley Swan " Welland " Upton. The services will therefore be late arriving at school in the morning, and then late arriving back at the drop-off stops in the afternoon. (NEW UPDATE)

TO THE CHANTRY HIGH SCHOOL : Service 310 will not serve St. John's, Henwick Park or the B4204 Martley Road between Worcester boundary and Broadheath, therefore all students should use Rogers' Coaches Service 811 until the 310 diversion is lifted. (NEW UPDATE)

The traffic on the south side of the city centre around the bridge is absolutely diabolic, causing heavy delays on the 30, 44/C, 363/364 etc

I remember there was an interesting situation during the floods whereby the exit from Crowngate bus station was raised to keep the water out, but this meant double deckers were too tall to fit under, so any double decker 144s had to load outside the bus station (single decker 144s still served the bus station).
