Quote from: Magikrabby on Yesterday at 06:42:17 PMIt would be almost all double deckers - the uni shuttle uses 7 vehicles! 5 of them are on uni all day. One does morning, then goes off to do Melton Foods contract and S1005 before returning late afternoon - this is usually a decker. The last one starts at about 1pm and does early afternoon, goes off to do Beauchamps college run and returns to do uni in the evening.

I'm hoping that the increase in deckers will improve the student's perception of the service. The uni shuttle has a pretty bad reputation amongst students, to the point that many prefer to pay for Ubers to get to uni than catch the free bus. While most just like to complain for the sake of it, the one valid complaint I hear is that the buses are always full. In fact me and my friends would try and schedule to catch a double decker to increase our chances of actually getting on!
902, 909, 910, 925 & 931 (+924 if not deputising a 912/913 on 22), would certainly help the uni shuttles. Although wouldn't expect it all day as like you say some go on different contracts. But it would certainly be a strong output for that uni contract.
From what I gather Saturdays are less busy than the weekdays. Although Wednesdays are busiest as operate a slight route variation?

Quote from: Mayfield on Yesterday at 09:41:52 AM24 electrics in service now is that the full order
Correct.
Although it's expected a further order for 127 & 5/5A will be made imminently following the next round of funding (which will also see pretty much all Loughborough going electric, except for sky, midland Diamond & the few Centrebus routes).
It's also thought the 148/158 corridor could be going electric too (thanks to Warwick receiving a share of the fund.. although not sure if yet officially confirmed or just early speculation).

Quote from: 47609FireFly on May 11, 2024, 01:26:19 PMFrom my observations around Wenlock Way, 931 is having absolutely nothing done to it.
Be wary of bus driver gossip. They're not always the best at assimilating all the facts and presenting an accurate picture of events.
Correct, drivers cannot always get everything right as they just assume. However like just stated in quote below, it was mentioned by a driver with knowledge and a high up personnel of staff.. "there's no rush to get it back up as won't be back out until after Summer for start of the uni services".

Of course.. things could change - as the Grantham deckers arrived. So they may well decide actually it's the end of 931. But equally I believe they are looking at an all double deck uni shuttle for next year.
Quote from: Magikrabby on May 11, 2024, 11:12:04 PMIt was stated in a facebook group by a trusted employee back in March that it is off for repairs before MOT, and there was no rush because of the uni's easter break - this doesnt seem like gossip to me. Plans can and do change, but since it was seen in the workshop yesterday I'd say that's unlikely. Probably didn't move for a while whilst waiting for parts. It had a very noisy air leak from the front door for a couple of weeks prior to being taken off road which I expect is one of the things they are repairing.
This is correct 👍
By moving it inside for these repairs I would assume it's being made ready for MOT / having the works done so it's ready for the end of summer. (Maybe even be back before then!).

Quote from: Mayfield on May 10, 2024, 07:53:05 PMI see 931 is was tracking on the hop which isn't possible as it was in the workshop when I passed ay 10.30 this morning, wonder what's got 931 ticket machine
Yep, not possible as it's having work done on it to prepare for uni shuttles in Summer.
Re 925 it is out in service, but display still needs full programming. I believe (from what I heard from a driver) it has the uni shuttle display installed but doesn't fit the screen properly.
As for not tracking, the office staff are aware and addressing this issue. Seems like the 4G isn't connecting properly

Quote from: LazyGuy222 on May 09, 2024, 01:30:27 PMFormer Leicester 32644 (KP54 AZG) has officially been preserved by the Midlands Bus Preservation Group, which is amazing news, so glad one of the KP54's have been saved.
Coventry based so hopeful it will see some use in Leicester events especially from 2025!
I'm aware there's 2 former Leicester ALX's preserved too but one is further away from Leicester and most of its use is away from Leicester sadly!
Still great news 👍

Quote from: Magikrabby on May 05, 2024, 04:21:35 PMI saw 4 streetdeck electroliners at the depot today. 36616 was one of them, and has the plate BN24 ZWC. The others were too far away to identify. They are pre-facelift like the kites, but have green headlights - I wonder if this is to differentiate from Arriva's batch? Hopefully won't be too long until they are in service! The infrastructure is already there and drivers are trained for electrics so I can't imagine much delay.

Here is a picture of it: https://flic.kr/p/2pPmsoL
Was told by a driver who I know there's 5 there now.. 2 are ready for service.. and more due this week.
It's expected that only when they all arrive will the other old DD's go starting with the E400's to Essex. Although not sure if all 8 will go or if 2 will remain (for Amazon). Streetdecks have a little longer before leaving.

Quote from: Glenfieldmathk1 on May 02, 2024, 09:33:36 AMFirst Streetdeck Electroliner, I've just seen it heading down A50 in Markfield. All green with dark green stripes.
Coincidently it was following a EMA Evolution!
Hopefully be out in service soon!
Update it's 36617. Interestingly (unlike the kites when they were delivered), it's fully branded inside and out.
36622 has also been seen leaving the factory.

Quote from: Mayfield on April 28, 2024, 01:18:29 PMWonder if 63523 will ever see service again
At some point soon I'd say - for a brand new bus that only had a few days / weeks in service I cannot believe they'd keep it off road indefinitely

Quote from: EK40 on April 26, 2024, 06:23:43 PMall of firsts newest electroliners are all pre-facelift so its probably the same
As they've been produced later than Arrivas batch and the earlier firsts batch it would be nice to see them in facelift version, but honestly they've probably specified the old front when the order went in!

They haven't arrived yet!
The picture on Facebook was taken in the Wright bus factory!
A second post from wright bus themselves clearly shows a green "Leicester electric" first Streetdeck again in factory at a show there! So they will definitely be on the way soon.

According to tracking, 912 is on route 20!
Any confirmation if this is correct?

642/3 are currently off road having next stop / destination equipment being fitted.
Friday 12th April saw a solid Double decker output on the 22! With 910, 912, 913 & 924 in use for almost the full day! (Although some singles did venture onto it too).
924 is very comfortable and gives a great smooth ride 👍

Why have they removed the X6 livery from one of the coaches?
Are they replacing them, or is the coach due to be used on a different route?

Quote from: Magikrabby on March 27, 2024, 09:36:18 PMI am indeed. The service is for UoL students only.
I would have thought that they are, considering the B9s were originally intended for the 22.

Easter holiday starts tomorrow, which means a reduced uni service, so I think there is a high chance it will appear on the 22. Although I am under the impression that Grantham's deckers are intended for the uni shuttle (which is most welcome because even with a 5 minute service at peak, single deckers dont cut it).
I've just read on Facebook that 924/925 are capable of being programmed with next stop audio & visual - if this is the case, I'd say they'd more than likely be used on the 22's! 924 did make some journeys today on the 22! (Although the side display programming showed 77 Fvington).
I would definitely say 902 will be on uni work when it arrives as it's a longer vehicle with more seats.. (this isn't Euro 6-think it's Euro 3? So won't be able to be used in the city routes).

Latest update:
912/3 are also set to get next stop as are most single deckers in the fleet.. Looks like something similar to what's already on the Orbital / HH etc.
