Quote from: MW on Yesterday at 09:26:19 PMA further drop in Mobico shares..?
WMT Ltd suddenly lost a who heap of value at 9pm tonight.

Based on Mobico winning diddly squat from 3 x Manchester Franchise rounds, it doesn't bode well for NXWM.

There's been a number of people on Bustimes first trying to remove it from the Diamond fleetlist stating it has been de-roofed under a low bridge, then trying to amend it to open top, the latest one is user by the name of KarlTotney123

Quote from: twbc99 on May 02, 2024, 05:46:00 PMPresumably 40521 and 30994 looking at bustimes. It would be nice if the Metrocity keeps some sort of Airway9 branding.
I doubt it will, as isn't it the 8/9 routes that Rotala have won funding for, to buy a new fleet of EV's for.

There's a Midland Classic liveried E400 & Versa currently parked in Tividale depot, Simon Dunn has since confirmed that the E400 is for repaint, the Versa for accident repairs & I assume it will be repainted at the same time.

Quote from: Solo1 on April 28, 2024, 04:43:01 PMI was asking which of the services at Perry Barr  that currently uses deckers will have the new electric buses on to start with

Why do people have to know everything in advance, why can't people just wait until they enter service.

Quote from: mranon on April 24, 2024, 07:40:15 AMid of thought that a 67 plate would be euro 6 as most manufacturers were building vehicles to euro 6 from 2015/16. it definitely wouldnt be euro 4, possibly euro 5
As I & Tony have already stated, Euro 6 E200's began with the MMC's, the original style E200's can't accommodate Euro 6 engines, registration plates are irrelevant.

Quote from: Wba_lad on April 23, 2024, 01:25:34 PMYes 497 and 498 are both euro 6 along with 505 and 506.
They weren't Euro 6 from new, so must have been retrofitted Euro 6.

Quote from: solonightrider on April 22, 2024, 11:44:01 PMaint the 2 new on fleet 67 plate e200s euro 6 then  if so they are being wasted on 841 & 432 they could be on the 35a 36 and get them big volvo's on to 74 826 828 circuit to releive some of the old heaps off there that constantly fail most days
Seems daft putting the freshly re painted bigger stuff on narrow county lanes over uttox area to gat all bashed and scraped up. 99 seems to be took off 841 432 and put on 74  826 828 - they dont seem to ever put owt decent on 74 826 828 all the oldest unreliable scrag end tat they can find.
No, they're Euro 5. Only E200MMC's are Euro 6.

Quote from: j789 on April 22, 2024, 05:32:33 PMWhile certainly not a great year over the whole group, reading the report for the U.K. bus and coach operations makes far more positive reading - return to 98% pre-Covid passenger numbers is amazing really compared to the situation just 2 years ago, and I doubt many other U.K. operators have regained passengers to that level so far.

Also, the big cost in this area was the 16% driver wage increase costing £130 million from last January. Looking forwards, such a one off dent in profitability won't likely happen this year so overall profitability should be pretty good in the UK market. If NX can shed some of the excess baggage in other areas of the business, the UK operations should provide a decent area for growth for the company and hopefully a potential merger with First which I believe would suit both companies.
Not sure there's much scope to grow UK bus, especially with the threat of franchising, it's certainly not worth the risk of buying any bus businesses going forward, even NXWM could be at risk of franchising in the future.
NX bid in all 3 rounds of Manchester Franchising, all for large franchises and walked away with nothing, so it doesn't bode well for their future UK bus business. Incidentally, First Group lost more work than they won too.

I agree on a potential First Group / Mobico Group merger, Mobico could offer First diversification away from just UK & Ireland, whilst First Group can bring a substantial increase to Mobico's UK bus operations & is debt free. The big issues I see on a friendly merger is the big difference in market caps i.e. NX £332 Million vs FGP £1.13 Billion....

4959 it was due for a repaint so will it be repaired and repainted or scrapped
I like the comment 'the bus driver should have gone to specsavers', they'll probably be getting a P45 for that.
