For those youngesters who have never seen it, there is a 1962 film called 'Lets go to Birmingham' which shows a driver eye view of a blue pullman train running from London Paddington to Birmingham Snow Hill shot at two frames per second to give a high speed run taking just 5 minutes. I have just nearly fainted at actually managing to get some of the cheapest advance tickets Cross Country advertise (£5 Manchester to Stafford) only to discover a new way they have found of ripping people off.

If you book them on their own website they charge you £1 for collecting them from a station ticket machine!

Book exactly the same tickets on the London Midland website and it is free

This Forum seems to have one down well since I added it. Has anybody any ideas for other features they would like to see added to this site? Any changes they would like to see made?

The refurb & repaint of 4176 is now complete and I will hopefully gate a photo very soon. It is not like 4177 but I believe there might be a very slight change from standard livery

In answer to the off-group question I have just receieved. The reason for there being two or more adverts on nearly every page of the main site are these are what pays for the site to exist. Without the adverts this site would be unviable.
Every advert that appears pays a very small fraction of a penny.
Every advert that is clicked on pays a little more
Every advert that is clicked on and then a purchase made, eg a ringtone pays about one pound.
Please do Not just click on lots of adverts just to pay money as this is against google rules and they monitor unusual patterns in clicks, but don't be affraid to click on any that do genuinely interest you. They have all been checked by google and are safe sites to visit

Apologies for there being no access to this site for about 40 minutes earlier. I-page, my ISP has a complete failure. Even their own American site trying to get people to sign up to them collapsed
