As a result of a spontaneously impulsive booking; I found myself in Cardiff for my 19th.

For a fleet of just over 200 vehicles, I was surprised to see so much variety! Having only gotten into bus photography in recent years, I've regretfully missed out on a lot of the West Midlands' more 'interesting' vehicles. Notably, our artic Omnicitys; a vehicle type that Cardiff still run in abundance! Naturally, during my visit, I was transfixed by their examples - which, of the ones I sampled, still seem to be in very good knack!

still plenty of photos to unload onto flickr over the next few days!

If you ever return, I recommend doing some of the higher frequency routes out of the City. The 57/58 for example also have the NAT X1 competitor, and you can get some really good shots with how much green and road space there is around the estates.
For example, here is Citaro 106 at Wern Goch Park in 2018. That was a very enjoyable half hour session spent sat on the grass getting buses perfectly posed in the sunshine!

Can't remember where I took this one, but another good spot with the X1 also present behind. Gotta love how many Citaros there are in Cardiff!

Think Cardiff is definitely on my list for another visit - perhaps in summertime, when the daylight's more generous ;) And thanks for the tip; some brilliant photos there

Cheers mate, my photos have certainly improved since then but those were some of the best of that year. They're due some BYD/E200s at some point but no idea when. It's certainly a very enjoyable place for buses with all the different, and arguably rarer, bus types on offer.

Good call there, I might have to return myself as I've never rode any of the Transbus E300s or Scania Artics which would be nice to do so  :D
