Really? PB's Omnilinks go down really low, for passengers. The Euro 5's make sound like they are releasing air when lifting back up.

Mine was a 4 branded. It needs looking at if it's not meant to be like that. Driver said to the struggling old lady- it's as low as it will go- and it was still stupidly high

The problem is not just the bus it is the lack of suitable kerbing at every bus stop (Cassle kerbing???) Some of the Volvo Centros I drive at Worcester garage do not lower as much as would be wished for and at stops without proper kerbing there is still a step up to the bus. However, where kerbing is in place these buses are fine as the kerb is raised so the bus doesn't need to go any lower. Having never driven a Scania in service I can't comment directly on it but I assume it is the same issue with those.

The 4 branded Omnilinks are the exact same as PB's 28 branded Omnilinks (both BX58) the 28 brandeds go really low. The 4 branded you caught must of been faulty.

Re the upcoming changes to the X51, does this mean there will be more red & white / crimson vehicles on the route or are there more Platties coming from somewhere, to service the increased frequency?

Also where is 'King Edwards School' ?

No, hence why the dedicated provision is being merged into the X51

Well this is why I'm asking. Why is the X51 going there at all? There can't be that much of a demand.

The King Edwards schools in general, and the High School in particular, pull in pupils from across the West Midlands, such is the demand for places. Whenever I see the 886 (it is currently run by Perry Barr) loadings have looked reasonable enough. I guess it's no different to the many Green Bus services that run from all over Birmingham and the West Midlands to King Edwards VI Camp Hill, Five Ways, Aston and Handsworth schools.

And it will also provide a link for workers from that side of city to Five Ways

If it was going to be that useful then why isn't there more journeys operating it?
