Yes I know the only unbranded one is 2143! But I couldn't see properly if it had branding or not because it was dark and it pulled off just as I arrived on the 9

3727 (74/75 branding) on the 68 yesterday

Arriva routes run by Cannock into Wolverhampton usually get practically every type in the garage even branded ones so wouldn't say unusual. Its rare to get a branded bus on route at cannock.

Oh ok it just looked funny ;D

Yep they certainly cant do route branding properly,  one of the stafford branded buses had it removed so it could be used on any service now its normally on the Stafford routes!!! They all need a respray any way both the number 1 & 74/5 buses havent been done since 2007 and Arriva dont even use that style of branding any more!!!

Has no one ever thought that route branding is to advertise the EXISTANCE of a route and as such needs to be moved about as much as possible, certainly NOT kept on one route.
Surely,if I am in say Wolverhampton and I see a bus branded for route 1 (Walsall-Cannock) then I am made aware that such a service EXISTS and may therefore use it in the future.
Keeping the bus on route 1 is pointless since if I am using the route I am obviously aware of it .
Such an idea is not new.............members with longer memories will recall many National Bus Company double deckers being branded for National Holidays, surely no one expected them to be used in that way.
Regard branding as an advertisement, and it all makes sense.

But surely the main people being targeted by the branding are the people living or travelling along the bus route who are currently not using the service! If you are sat in traffic for instance on the Walsall Road, and a branded X51 comes speeding past you in the bus lane you might think "oh that bus is every 10 minutes and always overtakes me in the morning, I had no idea it had journeys so late in the evening though when I come home. I'll look into using that."

You're passenger/motorist/pedestrian travelling between Wednesfield & Wolverhampton is only going to use a route between Cannock and Stafford (for example) once every blue moon, if ever, and most probably couldn't care less about that service.
