They don't interwork (unless that changed with the summer timetable), but the Uni buses are generally mixed anyway.

The 12X branded Enviro400s are on the 11/11U just like the Uni branded buses. Never seem to be kept just on the X12, even in Uni term time

The 5E is operated by spares @lauren1993 . This is not unusual.
A 20 branded bus was / is on the 2 & 3
