Have the announcements been updated on X12 yet for the route change and have flags been updated?

Jack D

Just in an x12 where have the announcements gone for the route?

The announcements are connected to the destination controller as far as I'm aware.

Yes, thats correct, from what i noticed on the X20/X21/X22.
From what I remember comming into the City Centre at Holloway Circus the driver would change the display and the announcements would then say "X20 to Cofton Hackett/Next Stop Granville Street", when coming into the City Centre.
On the X2 the other day, with the Solihull then St Peters display there weren't any announcements with that dsiplay.
Local Routes
94/95, 11A/11C, 28.

Yeah, I'm aware of all that. That's not what I meant. I was questioning the fact that @bbs said it's up to the driver if he wants them on or not. That bit doesn't sound right to me.

Announcements are a little bit funny and inconsistent.

Some routes operate a one way loop (like the 23) so the drivers change the destination around New Street. The announcements should work from there until they get to the out of city terminus. The announcements are in the destination controller (hence why you hear a jingle sometimes when the destination is changed). My only issue is that when an E400H is on the X8, the announcements work but when a B5LH is on the 23/24, the announcements don't work! I don't know if it's because it's all ADL and Volvo has a different destination controller or what.
23 - Bartley Green
76 - Northfield
X20 - Birmingham Via Longbridge, Northfield & QE Hospital / University

The YW 6 has next stop announcements. But in some buses usually on Sundays. They don't work they have a little star on the side.Even it's a 6 to Solihull and 6 to Birmingham. This also happened on a X2 6829

7515-7533 are set to transfer to BC for the X12 and X70, according to the list I've seen. This was a while ago now though, and things could've changed.

Seems like a lot for just the X12 and X70. Unless the X12 needs more since the route change.
