Absolutely love the roar on that bus. Only one in the AG fleet.
Since when did 4280 roar? The only one that has a 'roar' is 4284, every time when it accelerates. 4278 has a loud howl too.

4284 was the best of our native batch at Perry Barr. Went like the clappers

I don't know how long it's had it but it's got it now.

4284 has had its roar for years, and 4278 had its howl in PB days. The only other one that stood out was 4279, this sounded knackered but is a real beast, it has a loud howl too.

4280 is now at Graysons, and if all goes to plan will become the first Euro 6 B7TL/ALX400 in the UK.
It's back now, on the 5/73 today.

@Busboy105

It will become a lot more common to see E400MMC's on routes that had 4687-4696 operating. So the 1/1A, 4/4A and 72 etc, that was the whole point of them transferring to be used on routes that already had them being used on as well as the usual appearances on the 11 and 5/73.

Not at all

The point of the swap is to get the Outer Circle as close to 100% MMC as possible.
They do have to cover the 5/73 as Geminis cannot cover for the ALX400s

Why?
23 - Bartley Green
76 - Northfield
X20 - Birmingham Via Longbridge, Northfield & QE Hospital / University

Why?

Height restrictions on the 5 route, Geminis are too tall. It's been said on here before.
Local Routes: 002, 39/39A, X21, 46, 76.
Localish Routes: 18, 23, X22.

But the 5 used them before. Is it because of the new route that the 5 takes between Birmingham and Hall Green (Sarehole Mill)?

Doesn't matter that they used to be used there is a compulsory 14'3" height restriction on Robin Hood Lane bridge and even though they physically fit driver any vehicle under that bridge that is certified at 14'4" or taller can result in prosecution

Is that a new rule or was that always there?

July 2018. The signs were changed and the 5 went past Yardley Wood station until they transferred over.
