The 4 seems to be much busier than the 4A though. It seems odd how the 4 and the 4A run at the same frequency although the 4 is going to a town centre but the 4A is going to an island...

I'm angry at the way the 4 has almost halved the service from Acocks Green to Olton and Solihull, my local bus. I hope there'll be protests.

Doesn't matter if there is a protest, this is a commercial decision by NX to concentrate resources on the busiest section of route. There is still a frequent service from AG to Solihull by bus and also by train.

Exactly the same here!! On Sunday by 5:00 PM the service between Solihull and Birmingham is every 30 minutes, which is utterly useless for me. Considering 3-4 buses can sail past sometimes before one is empty enough for me to board, I really don't understand why the corridor has had a reduce in frequency. The worst time is when college students are trying to come home...

How is that useless?
I've never been on that service on a Sunday evening, but I expect that reflects the usage on the service at that time.
Most services see a reduction in frequency anyway after about 5/6 PM on a Sunday evening (eg the 11 goes from every 15 to 20 minutes/72 drops from every 20 to 30 minutes at that time/14 drops from every 15 to every 30 minutes).
With nearly everywhere closed up there are less passengers about and services are generally quiter.
I'd expect the reduced frequency reflects passengers loads at those times, at least you have a bus service at that time, which'd be better than no bus service at all.
I was in the City Centre a few weeks back on a Sunday evening and some buses were leaving the City Centre virtually empty on at about 9PM on the Sunday with only a few passengers onboard.

2209, 2210, 2224, 4279 and 4282 on the 73 this morning. 2205,4283, 4284 and 4304 are on the route this afternoon  In another thread it mentions interworking with the 11 and 72. Is this not going to make it impossible to keep euro3 buses out of Solihull? Also Sunny group are still running on the 72. Have they been modified to euro4?

It was mentioned that the 5 and 73 interwork not the 11 and 72.
The 11 still has pleanty of euro 3 vehicles on there today,  Branded Gemini and ALX400 B7TL (including 4260 on the 11C), the 11 doesn't interwork with anything.

Thanks 2206, that now makes sense except for the number of branded E200's, but this could be the summer schedule. 2209 and 2210 have recently reappeared..

It's half hourly in the evening too - just not good enough. Passengers are going to find other ways to travel so loadings will decline.

4645 and 4648 - AG X12
4779 and a Platinum - PB 94
7031 - PB 67
4645 and 4648 on the X12 are certainly not unusual you will find one on there everyday.
7031 on the 67 is not unusual. The Omnilinks are regularly on the Lichfield Road services, only thing that'd be unusual on there is a Platinum or a E200.

I've noticed the platinums seem to be becoming more common on the 94 as well recently?
That's 5 now in the past week and a half since Tuesday 17/07, 6797 (17/07), 6819 (18/07), 6821 (20/07), 6808 (25/07) and another today (26/07)?

Not anymore.
It used to use the spare platinums on Sundays until Easter 2018 and be completly/mostly E400 MMC operated it certainly doesn't use them anymore.
The 94 is Gemini operated on Sunday now and has been since Easter, the same as throughout the rest of the week when it is mostly Gemini operated.
(The Sunday running boards also show they are booked a B7TL DD Gemini).

Does the 94 still have E400's used on it? I've not seen one in months,
