The point has to be, why does a branded bus have to be on that particular route. Surely the branding just advertises a route.

For example, a 9 branded MMC appears on the 246, it is advertising that a service runs between Stourbridge and Birmingham, this is informative to people not on the 9 route.

The branded 9 that appears on the 9 is normally just telling people what they already know IMHO.
Surely how much use it would be would depend on the areas the route served.
Regarding the 71/72 Maybe at the Solihull end of the 71 but, Surely few in Sutton/Walmley/Minworth/Castle Vale have ever used/heard and will never need to use the 37 therefore will most likely find it of no use to them.

Noticed today the sign on 2204 while it was on the 72 stating "I turn off when stopped to save on fuel and my emissions" looks good and in a fairly decent place. Only just been able to ride on 2204 since the sign was fitted as it has been on other routes or on the opposite direction to me on the 72

Saw 4521 going up the Birchfield Road past Perry Barr train Station with passengers on while on the 11C at around 17:00 though a couple of  minutes later I saw 4038 on the 11C which followed the normal line of rote. Does anyone know what 4521 was doing? There also was very bad traffic in Witton.

Most likely going up the A34/A453 and turning right onto The Ridgeway past Witton Cemetry and normal line of route.

I know nothing about football timings, but maybe there was a football match and an incident. It's happened before and that's the diversion used.

Thanks for the information @MW. Did look like there had been a football match.

It's been a fair few years since a trident of either chassis has been on the 966. I remember when Lea hall were running the service it was all 02 plate tridents although I do remember a 94 branded trident on the route once

4292/94 are B7TL/ALX400 not trident's. Lea Hall only ever mainly ran either Y reg or 03 plate Trident's

ok my mistake but the majority were as I put @2206

4349 was only on a 3 month spell in 2010 before the garage closed whereas the others were there from new

Had a fun ride on 2205 earlier on the 72 to town from Chelmsley Wood, where Chester Road become Bradford Road our driver decided to turn right there & follow the 71 route for awhile apologising as he was a new driver, we all had a laugh over it stating we were going on a mystery tour. Came back onto Bradford/Chester Road at the School Road/The Green and resumed normal route again.

Yes I know the ALX 400 runs in the B7TL chassis but I group the lot under the trident name as it's just easier to type on a phone keyboard when you are running late for work
