Yeah, according to "people in the know" at AG lol

Something about at MOT due to expire.

You'd obviously be able to correct me if it's wrong.

All the ones taken off so far have MoTs running into 2016

2227 left Solihull Station about 10mins ago on a 72, now carrying purple 71/72 branding

2226, also carrying 71/72 branding, was in Sutton Coldfield mid-afternoon.

I didn't mention anything about the ones taken off so far. You've also mentioned that the ones so far are in reserve? Maybe that's not the case with 4023. You should be able to find out shouldn't you?

@MW I think @Tony  has given an answer @ message 1122, remember its not up to the garage, it's up to HQ which vehicles are withdrawn!
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

For the old timers amongst us this is like déjà vu back to the days when the Rolls Royce engined Metrobuses 2226 to 2245 were delivered new to AG. Although I doubt I'll look back on these ugly lopsided looking MMCs with the same fondness.

Funnily enough I was only thinking that last week! They couldnt half go with the Rolls Royce engine! Think they were a bit heavier on fuel than the Gardners though! Lovely proper buses!

All the best,

Dave

Funny, because I remember those Metros arriving and everyone was commentimg on their lopsided appearance, some things never change.

I remember when 2201 - 30 were 1949 - 50 Park Royal bodied Leyland PD2s. Now that should make you feel really young!

Yeah Roseberry St garage, used on the 82 (or B82 as it was then) - and 2231-2250 were Leyland Tiger PS2 single deckers, many of which were used on the 27. Wythall's 2245 would offer an interesting photo opportunity side by side with the new 2245 (when it materialises!!)
