I've been told that the recent Emeralds (69 plates) are driven by ZF gearboxes rather than Voith (68 plates).

Is this true? Why the change in drivetrain? Seems very odd..!

Yes, the newest ones there are ZF ones. I was hoping we'd get some down here too, but that ain't happening now.

Any views/comments are my own and do not reflect those of my employer.

EVs for Dundee

https://www.route-one.net/news/mcgills-extends-electric-buses-order-to-35-hydrogen-to-follow/

TL;DR
QuoteThe further order will see Xplore Dundee receive 12 BYD ADL Enviro400EV double-deckers...
QuoteXplore Dundee will deploy its Enviro400EVs to service 28 between Myrekirk and Douglas via the city centre. They will be known as Electric Emeralds.
QuoteIn addition to the confirmed battery-electric bus orders, McGill's says that it is in "advanced talks with a variety of partners" to bring 12 hydrogen fuel cell-electric examples into the Xplore Dundee fleet. They are due to arrive "in the next 12 months."

McGills willingness to invest and expand comes at a cost of robbing employees of their conditions . that have been in place for many years .

Did the staff not get TUPE'd across on their current contracts, or was there amendments that had to be agreed beforehand?

We got 3 months then the cuts came .

Presumably there is no 7013 - or should I say no 2813. Unless that is still around withdrawn? And obviously the new numbers 4111-21 didn't include 2246.

Does that mean NX can use 7001-18 again?

Not with the current engineering system, the same as no sold vehicle number can be reused

A system based on or similar to the one First used from 2003 for a guess?

Are these identical to the West Midlands versions? I'd imagine they were ordered before the sale, or not?
