Not all the hybrids are getting converted only 5402/9/12. I believe it's create spares for the existing E400Hs as the batteries in these are degrading faster than the volvos. There has been technological advancement in engines since those hybrids came out (7 years if they are 13 plate)

@Simon Dunn are these streetdecks pure diesel or smart hybrids like NX 67 plates onwards buses?

The Streetdecks feature Micro Hybrid technology, as do the Streetlites. Biggest benefit being that they're LEB certified. For those who don't know, LEB certification means greater subsidy from the Government (BSOG). That's why operators are forking out extra for Smart Hybrids/Micro Hybrids.

The standard E200MMC (Voith) is also certified for LEB. Not sure on the Allison versions that a lot of smaller operators appear to be leasing these days.

@Tony  gave me this answer which I am most greatfull to him for:

Tony this is just out of curiosity & nothing  more following the PLC Announcement to move to a fully hybrid fleet at NX what is the reason NXWM are converting these early hybrids to diesel?

@Tony reply:

The PLC has not announce it is moving to a fully hybrid fleet, it has announced it is moving to zero emission fleet. A 9 year old hybrid is worse on emissions than a five year old diesel so bringing these up to date is still a step towards zero emission

The Preston Bus new StreetDecks are Microhybrid version 3.  This means the vehicles are more fuel efficient due to modifications to stop/start technology/ the load on the engine etc.  However the engine is a "normal" Euro 6 Diesel engine.

69146/49/64/75/80 are in the process of being reinstated. Connected (presumably to replace buses which are required) with the award of tenders for services in Clitheroe/Nelson from 15 April

Looking at .Gov today, Rosso have cancelled all their Ribble Country routes & 153 Hotline Route which currently employ 23 x Mellor Strata 21 plates from 16th April. Looks as though Preston Bus may have won a big batch of tenders:

What's the status of 40030? Is that in the paintshop with 40406?

Is there any likelihood of 30114 being put back together & repainted for Preston?

40030 and 40406 both due back on the rd soon in the new livery.
I don't believe 114 will be back anytime soon if at all
