Stagecoach / Re: Stagecoach in Warwickshire
December 06, 2023, 02:24:08 AM
QuoteYes, I have noticed this for Coventry.  I suspect this is due to an error.

If you change the location to another town - such as Warwick - up-to-date updates appear, including Christmas services (the Birmingham services appear under Rugby - I know that garage operates them, but ...!).

Unfortunately, the only way of catching every update in Warwickshire is to change the town regularly between Warwick, Stratford, Nuneaton, Rugby and Coventry, as they often each have separate updates.
https://www.stagecoachbus.com/regional-service-updates/midlands has the service updates for the whole of the Midlands (Warks and the former United Counties bits that joined Midlands) for Stagecoach

QuoteWasn't the bus from Bloxwich basically the one interworking with the old 351?

I havent studied the 34/37/39 corridor timetable for sometime, but doesnt the 39 serve the Manor Hospital as well?

Surprised there's no way of rerouting the 39 further into Alumwell, to serve that missing section?

(In fact didnt the old 639 do this?)
Yep, the 639 did. And yes, the 350 (former 999) was joined with the 351

QuoteNo matter what Sandwell say Deckers shouldn't be passing under the bridge with it having a red circle! Which is an order.
Unless the TRO has an exemption for them?

QuoteThey were obviously desperate for the cash 😂😂 what puzzles me is there was 4 bids placed on the tender for the 19 and Chaserider were the ones that won it clearly the other operations that bidded clearly didn't put a high enough bid in hence why Chaserider won it.....Unfortunately.

I'm led to believe there is a big meeting tomorrow with the powers that be to discuss the 19 hopefully Chaserider say to them "we're pulling off the route" and before much longer you'll see the route cancellation notice on DVSA website I'm hoping they do I think it's come to the stage where they need to
Erm... the DVSA don't deal with bus service registrations wholly within the WM combined Authority area no more.

QuoteI know the idea is to demolish the bus station in January however I read that Dudley council had imposed traffic parking restrictions from the 27th November 23, is this to prep for the closure or is this the date the Current Dudley Bus station will be closing??
To prep for the closure as temporary stands need to be built.

I assume the 25 and 226 will be following the same diversion as the NXWM routes in Brierley Hill with Mill Street becoming one way temporarily (I.e. running via Venture Way and High Street from Merry Hill) from next week

Could it be more of a case of Euro VI requirement, which would mean the MMCs are ok too

QuoteFrom various meetings at WB we have been informed  the knock down of the bus station starts early Jan, 87 will terminate Ednam st, layovers on priory or Broadway to be used. Toilets restroom to be provided as well.
should be all fun and games then.
I had heard Tower Street was also going to be used (or was at one stage).

At least the college kids won't have far to get their buses (The Broadway is where Dudley College is, so it'll be fun for buses laying over!)

Rotala / Re: Rotala Management - Questions & Answers

Hi Simon

I noticed earlier that 31432 (Burton depot) still has the Derby 73 in the displays, despite the 73 having been replaced by the 70.

I know it had 70 on there as it came into Derby showing that. Is there any plans to remove obsolete routes from the displays as it may confuse passengers who are unaware otherwise?

QuoteI would think it more likely that the UK Bus division could be offloaded, especially if the new management can't turn around their fortunes. But really in the current climate, who would want to takeover NX West Midlands and Coventry?

Realistically, I think they'll sit tight and wait to see what happens with bus franchising here.
Before the purchase of Stagecoach by their current owners, i would have said them, as Souter always wanted NX Bus/operations in Brum.

To be honest, I don't get why National Express don't just move all their fleets into a single fleet numbering system, similar to Stagecoach and First, as you've got TKF E400Cities (the ones on sublease for the Harry Potter contract to Mullanys) in the WM sequence, some of the NX coaches in the WM sequence, NEAT has its own sequence and then there's the mess that's the NETS sequence.
