Quote from: Michael Bevan on October 12, 2023, 06:58:15 PMThis is going to sound stupid, but how is the transfer of the route going to work on the 22nd of October? Will NX Coventry start on the overnight 01:05 short between Birmingham and Birmingham Airport? Or will NX West Midlands run that on the Sunday?

Quote from: Stu on October 12, 2023, 07:39:51 PMI don't know for certain, but I can see why they chose to do this on the 22nd rather than the following Sunday when the clocks go back!

Bustimes shows the 0105 from Moor St to Birmingham Airport as Trip 1, so I expect this is when the NXC operation commences, however it seems NXC's 'overnight' portion begins as 0004 from Coventry to Birmingham but there should be no need to run that trip on the first day as BC will be operating their last departure from Coventry at 0020.

Also I am intrigued about what will happen when the clocks 'go back' as it seems driving hours will be exceeded if an extra hour is added to the 0004 to 0506 portion.

New 60 timetable is now on Traveline and TfWM, but is showing JLR Whitley still being served the same as current, all I see changed Mon-Fri is one journey runs 5 mins later.
Sundays is amended as per below, will terminate at Leamington Road (A45 roundabout).

I suppose looking back to January and the erroneous Sunday timings for Warks Shopping Park it might be best to wait for the day to arrive to learn what happens and see who is spouting porkies!?

TfWM upcoming service changes

From 29 October 2023, this Stagecoach service will operate with some minor changes:

Jaguar Land Rover will be served at peak* times only. West Midlands Bus on Demand is available to customers who wish to travel at other times of the day.

On Sundays will run from Stivichall to Arena Retail Park only, but will divert to serve Warwickshire Shopping Park

The updated timetable will be linked here once available.

*'Peak' is generally 7am-9am and 4pm-6pm

After a study of the new timetable the number of vehicles working on the service during the core Mon-Sat daytime is 9 buses with an increase to 11 buses between 1510 and 1727 Mon-Fri.
However with the nature of electrics having to go to charge after approx. three round trips we would be unsure what the true peak vehicle requirement would be.

The Coventry changes seems targeted to the Cannon Park area, the axed 19 I think was on reprieve since January.
An extended 2 harks back to the old 81E/81W service but presumably via Charter Avenue, which already has plenty other services, if it didn't work back then, it won't work now, surely service 14 could of done this and cover Canley Estate and Cannon Park shops in both directions instead of being parked at the University for 17 minutes!
The 14A could run in the peaks only direct via Westwood in both directions, with an arrangement of alternating/interworking with the 14 effectively as a 'loop'.
One would hope the Stagecoach 87/87A is amended via Cannon Hill Road and Crematorium.
Cannon Park also loses Sunday journeys on the Stagecoach 60.

Such a mammoth load of stops being updated just for this, I take it one crew does the flags and another does the timetables.
In regard to the routing it would be more sensible to put Keresley Village to Burnaby Rd/Catesby Road on to the 41 route and start the 42 route from Holbrook Lane/Burnaby Rd, this would shorten the journey from the Keresley section to the University by 15 minutes.

This has been 'on the cards' for some time and a recent amendment to the registration for the X1( / X2 "900")
indicates/confirms the service is to be operated by NXC from 22nd October.

The following week (half-term) might have been a better choice of date for the 'new' drivers to start off, lighter traffic, etc.
I suppose many will be interested to see what happens with the overnight journeys.
It could be a niche allocation for the 'odd' E020-29 stock if that doesn't complicate things and hoping this doesn't mean deckers are pulled off the 17/17A - this is just my personal opinion/cravings.

TfWM says there is an amendment to the 703 service which is part of the '60 contract' ...

QuoteService 703 : From 3rd September 2023, during school days one morning and one afternoon journey will operate to/from Sewall Highway via Courthouse Green and Foleshill.
There are minor timetable changes and peak journeys will no longer serve Cross Point Business Park.  It is recommended that passengers alight at Wigston Road, where interchange is available onto National Express Coventry service 8 or make the short walk to Cross Point.

Quote from: Stu on August 20, 2023, 07:25:57 PMFrom Saturday 2nd September, it looks like the 82 reverts back to the old route direct along the B4102, no longer serving Eastcote. It would seem that this temporary diversion didn't attract much interest or demand from residents in Eastcote, otherwise TfWM may have considered making this routing permanent.

On the plus side, it looks like this change means the 82 will be able to call at Parkhill Drive again, as that stop is now added back to the timetable.

Pity it wasn't changed to run both ways along Pickford Green Lane and Upper Eastern Green Lane to Parkhill Drive, would have been good timing offsetting the recently reduced frequency along part of the NXC 14 route generating more links/passengers, that said the new NXC 41 could soon be going this way plus there may be an ultimate plan for the 82 (and X1) to serve the proposed new housing estates.

Have noticed an odd one in Coventry where the Weekday 1640 11 to Leamington and the 1640 18 to Tile Hill South is tracking as the other service, seemingly due to the trips have swapped running boards since Wednesday.

Quote from: Tony on July 31, 2023, 02:21:15 PMIt's not another attempt to dispose of it. It's a tendered service. if you haven't got the results before the registration deadline you deregister it, because you will always get support to put a short notice registration in if you win, but you won't always be allowed a short notice deregistration

I suppose that might explain what happened last time, but there ought to be agreed deadlines for tender awards/results ahead of registration deadlines then maybe we won't have a fiasco of operators initially unable to fulfill services to an acceptable level such as Stagecoach at the start of the year because the notice was too short.

It looks like NXC are making another attempt to dispose of their X30 service with a registration cancellation again - I suppose the date is meant to be Mon 4th Sept.

Quote from: Coventrybususer95 on July 23, 2023, 05:47:31 PMThey won't have to wait that long surely they could get the 11/12x to Coventry
I was talking about passengers who have Tile Hill Village, Eastern Green etc. as their intended destination, I certainly think the schedulers purposely want a bus service to fail.

The new 14 timetable is also useless for anyone travelling from Cannon Park shopping centre, nobody will want to be waiting at University of Warwick for 17 minutes.

Quote from: ellspurs on July 20, 2023, 04:56:11 PMThe B4102 going over the m42 has been reopened for a few weeks now. I don't know if there's any plans to revert the route of the 82 to going directly down this road as before (when Johnsons were running it as the x20). The diversion had the added benefit of providing Eastcote with a regular bus route for the first time in a while. I'm not sure of any passenger numbers coming from there, as I don't recall there being any displayed bus stops when I last went down there.

Traveline has a new 82 timetable dated 2nd September which seems to show it reverting to original route along the B4102.
