I thought he was banned  from owning a bus company due to problems with tamworth  bus & coach & the other ones linked to him

D&DH Transport Services Ltd operated from Station Works, Rugeley until c2013. Although some vehicles were still operated until disposed of in 2014, vehicle operator licensing did not show a change of address until late 2016.

Interestingly vehicle operating licensing now shows two directors - Mike James and David Harley, with David Harley and Michael Granger the transport managers, but Companies House shows that David Harley resigned as a director on 4th October, the day after Mike James was appointed.

Notice when clicking fleet for sale, it takes you to busandcoachsales.com (Speedbird Enterprises Ltd).

They seem to be selling at current 2 Optare Solo's in White, Arriva Lowlanders, Arriva Renowns, Midland Classic ALX 400's (Sold), another ALX 400 (Ex London converted) and a few coaches.

Looks like "Mike James" has more than one company to me.

12 will operate Every 30 mins to Amington. It will do some sort of loop in the Bolehall area before getting to Amington.

Whatever it was, it was running with no rear registration plate today.
.
I was thoroughly confused by it re-appearing after 25 minutes as his website timetable shows a near one-hour round trip.
Both  the tourist office, now in Lichfield St. and the heritage shop had old 9 timetables and non for the 12, which also seems to have disappeared off his website.

They have in fact introduced an "8A" service.
http://people-movers.com/people-movers/pages/timetables/8A%209A%202017-06-08.pdf

They justify their decision by comparing buses to shopping...
"Think of it as you would your shopping, not everyone likes Sainsbury's, some people prefer Tesco or Morrisons, same products delivered with a different approach and cost. That's the philosophy behind our service, we merely wish to offer an alternative at a better value fare." - People Movers Facebook Page.

Had a good look at the MJ stuff in Tamworth today, after several hours

8A/9A operating
No 12 Tamworth - Amington
No 15 Tamworth - Wood End
No 66 Tamworth - Polesworth

Are they in trouble already? Most the fleet appears to be for sale

Caught PN07KRU on the 8A and was about the only passenger for the entire trip, driver was driving quite erratically and spent more time watching his phone and texting that he did watching the road.

I fully support independents, I think having competition in Tamworth is excellent but its needs to be done right, this isn't the first time I have caught a driver texting and checking there phone, very passenger focused! No wonder there services are dead.

Do you happen to have a link to this @jc ?

They seem to have a Wright Streetlite - MX12CFU

It is very poor if they can't runs services at all. If they can't run so many services, why bother. They should have just stuck with the 8A & 9A in my opinion rather than starting more services.

Same old same old in this case, always the same, start off with one route then go totally over the top with routes that he hasn't actually got the ability to run. Tamworth Bus & Coach, Heartlands, Network 2000 (?) and no doubt a few more I have forgotten.

Any new service should just stay running for at least six months as it takes time to get passengers to notice them, and it should be a long period of time before any new services get set up. Companies that put too much in their basket so early on tend to run into problems.

I do notice on their website that they are still looking for drivers.

And yes, there are buses getting sold, including the Darts that were repainted. Don't really get why vehicles get bought for them and a few months later sold on just for more of varying types. Should just stick to realistically one type of bus, less problems that way.

Definitely a MAN 12.240, or the vehicle which should be carrying PN07KRU is.  Metrobus had similar bodied Scania N94UBs but this isn't one so maybe they changed the bonnet and left the badge on.

Unless he forgot to update his vacancies page, he is still needing drivers, both full and part time. So it sounds like the real issue is getting drivers, nothing to do with the buses.

But who knows, there may be a different problem entirely going on. Certainly think he expanded far too early but that's just my opinion.

Everyone is having issues getting Drivers!  National Express are giving £500 welcome bonuses to new starters on Coaches.  Skills Coaches are having to let office staff and fitters drive to cover there work.  Even Nct had to cancel route the last time England played football on Sunday as Trent Bridge was short.  The 11c which is Sunday's only did not run that day!

This week's Route-One Magazine (http://www.route-one.net/magazines/emag/routeone712/pubData/source/routeone712.pdf) reporting:
QuoteThe O-Licence held by North Warwickshire Travel Ltd, trading as People Movers, will be revoked on 7 December. It follows the firm's decision to stop running three Tamworth services earlier than the 56-days notice required. They had only been running for 17 days.

Traffic Commissioner (TC) Nick Denton also ruled that Director Michael James "deliberately ignored" its legal obligation to carry on running the services until the formal termination date and he "disregarded the need to operate within the law and to respect the regulatory process."

Mr James is banned from being a transport manager for three years, and banned indefinitely from holding an O-Licence. The TC said one of the basic functions of a bus operator is to make sure it has the necessary staff to run local registered bus services.

"It could have brought in agency staff to man the services, or sub-contracted them to another operator. It did neither."
