Quote from: Bus_user_jay on Today at 12:21:16 AMSaw that 2102 was on the PN 2 last night - thought Volvo B7RLE's couldn't go on the 2 as they're never on the route? 🧐
They've been used every so often they just aren't first choice as it's a struggle. Even as the 222 I remember 0405N's and B7's making odd appearances when there was no smaller vehicles or Deckers available...

As handy as the Perry Barr flyover was, the whole area feels much more nicer to be in now without the likes of that, grotty subways and a grotty train station. The traffic at Perry Barr isn't even that bad either really with the lights, even at rush hour it does move fairly fast. Before the Perry Barr works it was a massive dump and never felt safe at night. Even the old roundabout was a traffic hotspot for buses coming outbound from city and now that's happily not an issue with the bus lanes.

Would be nice if the Walsall drivers on the limited stop services would make use of that bus lane in rush hour to speed up journeys instead of sit in traffic.

Quote from: BlackCountryBusSpotter on May 13, 2024, 10:22:08 PMTrue either way we know that WA have lost an Omnilink
They've gained one, 1887 has returned (assuming) as a replacement for 1846.

Quote from: Ingleboro261F on May 13, 2024, 11:42:21 AMMaybe the drivers could adapt to using older e400s? They're kinda similar to e400mmcs
They aren't, the three types NX use are all different cabs to each other. So would require more type training.

Why is everyone so obsessed with the 8 being double deckers lately?

Sorry it's off topic.

Quote from: BlackCountryBusSpotter on May 05, 2024, 04:27:08 PMWA 8 is a long route takes an hour or over depending on traffic from Walsall to Lichfield as it goes through Rushall, Pelsall, Clayhanger, Brownhills, Chasetown and Burntwood there was many signs that say Lichfield A461 the 8 turns off down Back Streets.
A lot of routes do that you know... to serve estates and streets that are further out from the main road and where's there is more passengers waiting in these area's that have a far walk to a main route.

The WB 45 is another example it completely goes off the main route to Walsall (4 follows) to serve estates and back streets that are a very long walk for some to the main road. Any passengers wanting to get from Walsall to West Brom would get the 4's, wouldn't be sitting on the 45 etc which takes double the time. Same with the West Brom to Wednesbury services, people catch the 79, whereas the 40 and 47 cater for the estates and keeping them linked...

Quote from: 2206 on April 27, 2024, 06:30:54 PMI can't see how putting the 66 on the new 65/67 stop is a good idea either when 65/67's and at times the 68/X64 always seem to be parked there waiting time and loading/unloading. And there seems to be even less space than at PQ12A.
Wonder if something using SQ7/SQ8 on Colmore Circus would be a good idea?
The 66 shared that stop with them with no issues at all. Was a silly choice moving it.

Quote from: BBS on April 26, 2024, 09:05:20 PMPretty much all of this won't happen, tridents can't go to AG, E200mmcs aren't enough for WA, they'll need to get AGs ones too which don't seem like their moving anytime soon
Be interesting to see how E200MMC's would fit round some of Walsall's routes! I think the Urban 2's still at Coventry will be placed at a few garages to see off Omnilinks.

Quote from: Gareth on April 24, 2024, 11:11:23 PMI'm guessing they've realised that operationally PQ12A was a stupid idea when there's a queue of 94&95s all trying to unload/load and change drivers
Should never of moved the 66 anyway! Again more amazing thinking!

Quote from: 2206 on April 24, 2024, 03:45:14 PMFrom 28th April there will be further stop changes in the City.
Updated bus stops in Birmingham City Centre | NX Bus West Midlands

X21/X22 will stop at MS10 and then directly opposite at MS12 on the other side of the road.
What is the point in moving the 93* a whole stop down? Nothing wrong with those stops as it is.

Quote from: Stu on April 21, 2024, 07:33:12 PMThere are no 'abandoned' buses there, maybe one that has arrived early/ontime and has to then wait time before it can leave.

MS4 is now the designated stop for all the Stratford Road services, with MS3 being used as an 'overflow' or unload point.

From what I saw last weekend, when I was in Birmingham on the Saturday, both stops ARE being utilised, especially when more than one bus arrives at the same time due to delays caused by congestion in Digbeth. It might have made things 'easier' for you, but would be impracticable, having all those services using the one stop, as well as the Stratford Road ones.
Again, I didn't say all of those were to use one stop, there's 2 stops there at least the Cov Road buses would've been able to use both the stops instead of the mess that they've created there now!

Quote from: BBS on April 21, 2024, 07:13:59 PMX1/X2 where the 2/3 usually stopped, 60 at the same stop and 17 where X1 stops, and the separation where the 4 or 6 stops where the 87 and 16 used to stop
Not completely but almost.I said I would of moved the Stratford Road services to where the current Cov Road services are on Moor Street, the bays a lot bigger, the bottom stop could of had the 4/4A/6 and the other have the 2/3/5.

Then the current stop the Stratford Road services share could have the 60/X1/X2 back and the 17 outside Primark again!
