"GUG" still going about it's business today. Possibly still " in ticket" until tomorrow ??  :o

Confusion in Evesham Road, Redditch this morning due to road works. The signs at the bus stops and details on the Diamond website say that today school buses will be allowed on Evesham Road before 9.30am. Unfortunately the people operating the road access barriers didn't seem to know about this. I saw one vehicle just before 8am - I think it was the 70S to Ridgeway School - being diverted off Evesham Road and down Yvonne Road. As a result, about 10 children waiting at the Crabbs Cross post office stop on Evesham Road were left behind.

20850 was broken down in Acocks Green on Westley Road by the bowling alley at 15:15 this afternoon, blocking half of the road, half on the pavement, half on the road, it was on the 36.

Well I don't know about 'GUG' but 30128 (YJ12 GUE), Optare Versa H, was on the 70 in Redditch this morning.

Both still in service at the moment.

11522 (Volvo B12B/Plaxton Panther) has been operating in Redditch since at least the beginning of May, although it still appears to be allocated to Tividale. When I saw it at the beginning of May it was registered Y40 HMC but at the end of May I noticed it had been re-registered YU04 XFB - a return to its original registration.

11520 (Y20 HMC), another Panther, continues to operate in Redditch as well.

A lot of Signature buses in use in Redditch today both 30030 and 30128 on the 58. 30404 was on the 48 and 20026 was on the 57 and another Solo SR was also in use but I didn't catch the fleet number.

One of the X30's broken at the station this afternoon. Bonnet up!

Again, a lot of Signature buses in use on Redditch town services today. I saw 3 of the 4 Signature Optare Solos allocated to Redditch plus 30128-YJ12 GUE (which is supposed to be withdrawn), 30404-YJ61 CHH and 30405-YJ61 CHK.

Some observations yesterday
30030 on the 58
30128 still in service
30821 noted working from Redditch on the 55
40544 seen on the 58 (don't think it comes out on normal services much)

From this week's Route One magazine, page 14, it's said that there are plans to start a Swift pilot on buses in Redditch in the Autumn, presumably Diamond!

A pilot (trial) of the Swift card outside of the WM

Great that Swift has broken outside the old West Midlands county, as long as comprehensive products are developed to break down the boundarys in the spirit of the buses bill having multi operator tickets.
Just need a legal team to head off Competion Commission as on Merseyside.
