30454 has been rebranded from the Swift226 livery and is now in Red with Diamond logos on (and a www.diamondbus.com web address)

Diamond getting new buses for the 226? when are these suppose to arrive and what type of vehicles. I'm guessing they may be enviro 200's similar to the ones acquired for Wessex red.

Are they going to be new or second-hand?

Maybe Diamond will use the 2 ex Hansons Enviro 300s 30944 MX 55 NWL and 30945 PO 54 NWM that they have recently acquired which Hanson's used very regularly on this route!!

Did Diamond buy these direct from Hansons or via a dealer?

Unless Diamond offered them a huge amount of money, they wouldn't have sold them directly to Rotala.

30944/30945 came via Ensign/other dealer I think and are for Redditch

If the 226 are to get buses it will probably come from somewhere else within the group may be 4 centro's or the 4 new 13 reg vehicles from the 4 service. 20848-51 would have been ideal as these 52 reg darts are not bad buses and seem quite reliable and are full length darts.

Just to add, new buses were promised as part Brierley Hill better bus bid, as NXWM had new E200's for the 222 @ PE

Ash

That's good news then for passengers of diamond's 226 as the previous darts were not the most reliable buses for the service. I guess that Y211/2HWJ could replace the 2 of the 3 S reg red and white darts still in service at Tividale.

Ash,

I've just had a quick scan through the Brierley Hill Better Bus Area Fund bid submission and as far as I can see there's no specific mention of where Rotala's contribution of new buses will go, the statement reads as follows:

'£2.2m from National Express and Rotala for new buses on strategic corridors'

As £2.2 Million doesn't buy that many new buses 14-15 full size single deckers at £150k/each or 18 E200's at £120k/each

Rotala's strategic corridors include the 002, 4M & 226, I can't see anything to state the 226 is due new buses. It may be that the 4 x 13 plate B7RLE used on the 4, 4H & 4M and now on the 002 are part of Rotala's investment. I would have thought that the bulk of £2.2 Million investment would come from NX, the 222 E200's were the first phase & maybe another PE route is due new buses in 2014 as part of phase 2 i.e. 276 or X96?

Yeah the investment might just be those 4 and have added 3 second hand b7rle's although there not new and also supposed to be 3 from Wessex although not sure if this is going to happen.
