E200s have now started receiving new ticket machines.
I suspect NX will lose revenue with them...

Also, is 872 back on the road? I havent seen it lately.

6826 is one of the X1 with revised destination displays with larger number and emphasis on speedy journey.

Much improved. Why they didn't put it like that when the buses were new I don't know, much easier to read even for those with fair eyesight.
I also noticed that we're back to the 20 minute frequency of the 900 that we enjoyed in the late naughties!
Is this permanent or just for the summer timetable?

The only thing left that could be improved on the X1 would be mute buttons for individual 'next stop speakers' so I don't have to sit directly/indirectly under a speaker. [That or have a volume control of some description.]

The Archive / Re: Noteworthy Workings - February 2017

This is a noteworthy working, but not for the usual reasons...

872-23A Fenside.

What's wrong with that you ask?

A driver yesterday forgot which direction he was heading and took a detour to Allesley Park instead!

Three Enviro 200's all somehow ended up at Beche Way bus terminus at the same time!

Not sure where to post but I just saw a red/white NXWM trident in the Holyhead road in Coventry

I got myself a Swift card and used that for the first time this week, definately worth it to save a few pennies ;)
The paper ticket printed on the bus will even show the remaining balance.

I don't think the prices increases are extortionate. Travelling round the majority of the West Midlands on a daysaver for £4.20 is a fair price I'd say.

National Express Coventry / Fleet cleaning.
December 31, 2016, 08:47:30 PM
I noticed yesterday that quite a few of Coventry's buses are externally dirty.
844,4454,6017 etc

Is there just a general lack of cleaning or is this purely down to the winter weather? I know a lot of the fleet is stored outside an I wondered if this had anything to do with it.

Anybody else noticed this? Its really a shame given how smart they can otherwise look.

EDIT: Improved formatting.

Haha probably just ran out and used a rioll off a coventry bus
Same thing happened Tuesday. I really feel sorry for people buying the West Midlands daysavers on the blue Coventry tickets though; a lot of  drivers (outside of Coventry/Non Birmingham Central) seem to get confused about it.

Its the same reason I won't purchase N network tickets on a train.

Stagecoach won't use it due to the charges Centro levy on each bus using the station (or so they say),
That was my understanding, although have seen the odd Stagecoach vehicle parked up.

I'll post this here, but I heard through the grapevine that there was an Enviro MMC in Coventry today. *(Away from 900 duties)

Any info?

Had an hour in Coundon yesterday afternoon and managed to photograph 1571, 1579, 1591, 1594, 1659 and 1704 on the 5 and 7 routes.

All the best,

Dave
Ah get them while you can! :)

1704 though... A bit far away from Pensett garage...;)

I personally think that they should bump up the fares on all these services, getting better services they should re claw investment back , like they used to on Timesavers and the areas left with considerably less investment can pay standard fares. At the end of the day more affluent areas in general are  benefiting and if NXWM are looking at driving people away from more expensive cars and trains, they will be used to paying higher transport costs.  Finally why should NXWM make a bit of extra margin.

Wait for the reaction........ lol
These vehicles will surely pay for themselves over their lifetime so why should the passenger pay more?

They are being replaced by the platinum buses existing e400 on 900/957 are going to the pershore road services 45/47

Silly me.

Another stupid question but does anybody know when the new vehicles will enter service? And whether going 'platinum' will cause any other changes to the 900? (e.g stopping prices/ticketing)
