Hi, I'm not sure exactly what vehicles will be running, their website doesn't say.

I'm like you, the last time I saw the Metrorider it was just a shell on wheels, so if it is running that will be a bonus.

Hi all,

At the time of posting this, I see that the Wolverhampton lower blind is still up for sale on e-bay at £44.99, not only is this really overpriced but they also want £9.90 to post it to you!!!

I picked up a complete destination blind box with working mechanism off a MCW Metrobus with both upper and lower Walsall hi-viz blinds still fitted to it for just £35.00.

I also picked up a WMPTE Fleetline side number box complete and fully working for only £20.00 too!!

I also have a white lettered AG upper blind and a white lettered WB upper blind, I'm still looking for the matching lower blinds for these two as well.

Speaking of which, does anyone know where I could pick up a couple of destination blind winder handles from? As they seem to be as rare as rocking horse poo!!

Hi lynx1103,

Wasn't the driver's door sticker indicating what garage the bus came from, part of the change that also included changing the WM Travel main side logo to include the name of the garage too?

Tony.

Hi all,

I have just dug out a book on the Outer Circle Route that I own and it advises that at one time or another especially during peak times that Washwood Heath, Hockley, Quinton, Lea Hall & Cotteridge all put buses out onto the 'Circle'.

But it's main service providers were indeed Perry Barr, Acocks Green, Harborne & Selly Oak.

Hi Stuharris 6360,

Thanks for your response and confirming my thoughts.

Unfortunately I don't know the exact year, I just know that they were used by WMPTE as I can remember seeing them in the windscreen of the Fleetlines through the 1980's.

At least we've narrowed it down to 2 garages though  ;)

The Archive / WMPTE Running Schedule Clipboard
August 31, 2014, 07:50:05 PM
Hi,

I've recently acquired an old bus running schedule clipboard that the WMPTE drivers used to use to let them know where they should be and at what time.

The one I have has the numbers 11 06 on the back of it, does anyone know (a) what these numbers denote and (b) what garage this bus would have come out of?

Personally, I think that this denotes that it is bus no. 6 running on the no.11 bus route, can someone confirm this or advise otherwise?

And maybe out of PB or AG?

I would be interested to find out.

Regards
Tony.

Hi everyone,

I'm the latest newbie on this site as of this morning, so I'm just breaking myself in at the moment after reading the site rules.

I didn't know about this site until I came across it while surfing the internet for some info on a bit of WMPTE memorabilia I purchased off e-bay.

I've read some good posts on here so far and would definitely be interested in the visit mentioned to AG depot if it goes ahead, especially after I missed the joint YW & AG open day in October 2013.

So thanks for accepting me as a member and I'll enjoy reading and posting on this site going forward.  :)

Kind Regards
Tony S
