Just seen an ex Coventry articulated Citaro on Woodway Lane.

I Always give the driver a wave or thumbs up when I see him.

And yesterday I think 831 was on the 8 which is an oddity.

Has anybody noticed issues with the reliability of service 8, twice weekday afternoon departures have failed to turn up and I wondered what had happened. And yes I gave plenty of time before it was due in case it was early.

Thanks,

Why would you publicise it at the moment. Bus still runs as before so essential workers soon know, and there's no need for veg to go out looking for it
I think the answer lies in aspects of management that aren't quite suitable for a web forum.

Amidst the pandemic, there has in fact been a new service registration. The return of service 1 to National Express Coventry.

https://www.vehicle-operator-licensing.service.gov.uk/search/find-registered-local-bus-services/details/549243/

Its a shame that National Express Coventry didn't publicise it better.

I thought it odd nobody had posted then I looked again...

Just an opinion but the front of the E400MMC looks better than the City version.

These new vehicles are looking better than the 400MMC at present.

Should be fun.

Thing is, what is the position on jobseekers and bus travel?

If Job seeking isn't work

How on earth can "via Coventry" be an improvement ? Given that most routes operate within
the Coventry boundary "via Coventry" is absurd and totally unhelpful to most travellers. I also
find it rather insulting.
I agree there was a problem before September with "via City Centre" as the generic default but NX
Coventry vehicles never seem to have much flexibility with destination displays particularly in the era
of digital display

'Coventry' puts Wheatley Street in line with the other garages that could not use "City Centre" its probably as simple as that.

Although,
"District"
"Central Business District"

"Pool Meadow" would be best otherwise "Cross Cheaping" (Who would want to get a bus to Cross Cheaping) or "Trinity Street"

Or, we could have none and require passengers specify their destination to the driver.

I noticed a repaint on vehicle 4128 reverting back to the Red and blue West Midlands Travel and was curious as to why? Is it going to heritage?

it seems "via Coventry" is now the default on all cross city routes - absurd
and just about as unhelpful and uninformative as its possible to be

Geographically correct and therefore an improvement.

I am not 'city centre' as a person.

Also 2176 was on a tow truck on the Holyhead Road yesterday which was a little bit puzzling as it had made been out on the 23 anyway.

4453 has made its first appearance on the 23.
Looked quite photogenic trying to get into the Number road at the roundabout.
