Title: Who owns open toppers in the West Midlands now?
Post by: Westy on October 14, 2012, 12:38:13 AM
I noticed last week on the telly that the open topper used on the Ellie Simmonds parade was one of the Birmingham City Sightseeing Tour ones.

Doesn't NXWM own one now?

The PTE used to use a ex BCT Fleetline (3867), which was joined by a 1971 early PTE one, then wasn't there a Mark 1 Metrobus at some point?

NXWM doesn't have any open toppers, TWM's last open top example was Metrobus 2939 D939NDA which was in the private hire unit

The only other WM op with a convertible open topper is Green Bus Volvo Olympian 365 R 365LGH

The Mk1 Metro was 2028 - BOK28V. Great livery, crap engine and gearbox!

Kings Norton Coaches own Leyland Olympian A 134 SMA which runs the Birmingham Sightseeing Tour on behalf of a company based in harborne, which doesn't have a PSV Operators Licence. Previously, Central Connect and Johnson's have had the contract and been the registered owners of this vehicle.

Minor correction, Kings Norton coaches 'operate' A134 SMA' it is owned by the lady that runs the Birmingham tour
