Photo Links / Demonstrator buses.

Guess there's no thread for demonstrator buses, so here it is.

I'll start.

Demonstrator - Volvo B5TL MCV/Evoseti, BF65 WHZ, loan to University of Wolverhampton. There are pictures of the interior, too.

First / 39221 Volvo B5LH First Leeds.
June 02, 2015, 08:37:38 PM
Hi everyone,

I recently visited Leeds for the weekend and I saw some buses have this "thing" sticking out near the wheel. I was wondering what this is and should it be at that place or not? One or two buses have had that sticking outside the bus body, it was worrying. I decided to take a picture of it on 39221 Volvo B5LH First Leeds so I can show it to you, perhaps someone could help answering my question.

Thanks in advance.

Wolverhampton City Council will be making significant changes to transform the city centre. As part of the works there will be changes to some bus services. The first change will take place on Saturday 30 August 2014. The second change will take place on 31 August 2014.

For those are interested to find out, link here: Bus Changes.

I'm glad WA 69 is back in the bus station but didn't expect WA 89 to go in the bus station!

The title pretty much says it all. Further details in this link: http://networkwestmidlands.com/wolverhampton/WolverhamptonChangesMetro.aspx

It doesn't say how long this will be for but will start from 6th September.

Hello, everyone.

Here is the thread for bus accidents/incidents. It would be better to post in here rather than posting in the respected garages or making new topics. It can be a fire incident or a crash, etc.

So, I will start with one.

Here is a bus incident with a shooting.

Thank god, this time I am not in the crash! Okay, so I was on 1453 on 38 heading to Wednesbury, I saw 1430 being ready to be towed away by a Mansfield truck. Passed 1430, and the front headlights and bumper looks like they were smashed and they are removed.

What is it with B10Ls and their accidents!? First, 1474. Second, 1436. Possibly, third, 1430. 😒😒

Admin: If 1430 is just broken down and the headlights and bumper were necessary to be removed in order to tow away then delete this topic.

Goodbye 1436.

1436 was serving 39 to Walsall at 9:36am. The bus stopped at the bus stop, by The Gate Inn (near Priestfield tram stop), to pick up passengers. A stupid van driver crashed into the back of the bus. I was sitting at the back as usual and then CRASH! I looked back fast and saw the van stuck at the right back side of the bus. The van driver was like "Oh, no!" Putting his hands on his face then came out. The crash happened at 9:47am. It felt like a hard push towards the bus. We all had to get off. The driver was asking everyone if they were alright and then focused on me because I was the only one sitting at the back. It was a bit of shock. 2 police cars and 2 ambulances came to the scene. There were 6 passengers (including me), 4 went straight on 79 before the ambulances arrived. I was assessed by a paramedic to make sure I was officially fine. The driver was also assessed. He stayed in the ambulance.

The Walsall inspector came 45 minutes later. 2 men with orange hi-vis jackets came. I caught 1446 on 39.

Looks like 1436 will be withdrawn, like 1474?

Notices / Quoting
April 12, 2014, 07:16:37 PM
Hello, members of the forum.

I might sound pedantic or being a bastard but I can assure you I am not. Right, quoting. I notice that when some members quote and type their own comment to reply the quote, there are times I see their comment is hiding somewhere in the quote(s). I will give you an example.

Original quotes:

Quote from: wilmotm (Matt Wilmot) on April 12, 2014, 01:44:29 PM
Quote from: Stuharris 6360 on April 12, 2014, 11:21:41 AM

Just a thought, why not make the 246 single deckers at night, like what happens with some Brum services. It rarely gets busy and undesirables often gather upstairs smoking and behaving badly.

Good idea Matt and it would be easily possible, add the evening journeys to the 243/4 daytime boards.

I highly doubt PE will want to add anymore miles to the elderly Mercs, particularly on late night boards
I was thinking X96s that finish in Dudley or Stour

Could do, i was just thinking if undesirables get on and behave badly, Mercs off the 243/4 would be better than B7Rles.

Where was the last comment? It's hiding somewhere. It can be annoying having to read back and see which is the same and eventually I (possibly you as well, if you have the same problem) can identify the "missing" quote where it should be.

Corrected quotes:

Quote from: wilmotm (Matt Wilmot) on April 12, 2014, 01:44:29 PM

That looks better. I can read the quotes and follow the "story" of the topic. Note that I do not intend having to aim directly to those people in the examples of quotes, this is aimed generally. :) I want to show you examples, that is all.

When you quote, can you please be sure you are typing in the right place so we (and myself) can read without having to read back and try to find the "missing" quote/comment.

Thank you for reading and hope you understand why I felt about this quoting issue.

Buses that goes through Lichfield Road, Wolverhampton by Art Gallery are being re-routed to Stafford Road, turn left to Ring Road, then I assume turning left to Waterloo Road then back on their routes (and vice versa for reverse direction). It was weird to see (WA)69 passing Stafford Road and turning left! There seems to be road works in Lichfield Road. I have no idea how long this will be. I apologise in advance for not being useful. I only have seen this while walking to the university.

The Archive / The "new" photograph banner.
February 20, 2014, 09:47:14 PM
I noticed Tony changed the photograph banner at the top of the forum. What I particularly like about it is the Cosmos font! Note: I had no idea where to post a post somewhere on here so I figured I might create a thread, a brief thread perhaps.

The Archive / Appear offline option?

Hai readers. Is there an option I can make myself appear offline?

1474 (69), 1679 (82), 4129 (89), an Arriva bus and 586 (82). All buses are turned off and got their hazard lights on, they all are on the bus lane in Wednesfield Road. Presumably, 1474 has broken down and caused a blockage on the bus lane.

Edit 1: Changed 582 to 586. (Thank you Stu.)
Edit 2: Changed NXWM trident (59) to 4129 (89). (Thank you Nathan.)

The bus stop by the Selfridges showed "126 Ashmore Park"! 😜

I was wondering if there may be similar issues on other (electronic) bus stops you have seen?

National Express West Midlands / Where are they going?
October 17, 2013, 01:52:12 PM
Hello everyone,

I just saw 1408 and 1450 were driven by the men in orange hi-vis jackets. They were going north on the expressway near Aston. Anyone may have an inkling as to where they may be heading to?

Thanks in advance.

Arriva / 2 - Walsall to Cannock (Evening service)
August 13, 2013, 09:53:20 PM
Somewhere on this forum, I read that this particular bus service will be withdrawn on the evening services. I would like someone to give clarification regarding this. Is it true or not? What is happening?
