Birmingham city centre was (and may still be) gridlocked earlier, so there were probably lots of untimetabled E workings.

M6 was shut between 6&7  traffic was being diverted up the aston expressway and down the a34 walsall road to re join the motorway so suspect their was carnage.

And as well as the temporary traffic lights on the Stratford Road under the railway bridge by Camp Hill Island, I also heard there'd been an accident at Bordesley Circus. The ring-road was mayhem, and traffic was queuing along both the Stratford Road and Camp Hill. I was planning on avoiding this all by getting the 50 to Moseley and then a 1 home to Acocks Green, but after waiting nearly 15mins for a 50 that was 'due' (according to the NXWM app) and then arrived displaying 'Unload Only' I gave up and walked down into Sparkbrook and joined a packed 37 which I passed earlier and had been stuck for ages.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

I finished work at Bordesley today, knew what traffic was like so decided the best way home was to walk from Bordesley garage to Duddeston Station, oh what a lovely walk that is (not).

Wouldn't be surprised Nathan, time keeping on the X96 has been awful again lately, they really need to do something about this route, maybe add in another board or even drop the Dudley to Wrens Nest part of the route.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

I don't even know why X96 got extended to Wrens Nest... It's silly. 81 covers a part of the 206/207 circular. 27 could get back on the 541 route if X96 terminates in Dudley. Problem solved, I think lol.

It appears 2080 had done the Wrens Nest bit, run an X96E Wrens Nest to Dudley, then run private to make the 14:05 from Wollaston back to Wrens Nest

Well with only one minute at Wrens Nest and no time at the Wollaston Farm end, it doesn't stand much chance of keeping time. As you say, there are alternatives to Wrens Nest.
