@Solo1 No way, the single deckers they use on it are mostly 3/4 empty for most of the day.

Strangely a decker is on the 298/9 this morning!

Saw this decker at the junction of New Farm Road/Grange Lane this afternoon and thought I had gone mad! Still, a nice one to see and certainly one for the very rare workings list!

as a slight aside, am surprised that the 298/9 have survived.

In the 70s when they were the S48/S49, they were popular routes and that continued when in 1976 when they were renumbered 298/9 with half hour frequency on both routes and Decker's like D9s and Fleetlines used.

However the popularity of the 294, 247/8 and now the 276 have really destroyed the service,

If Monday to Saturday daytime, they increased the 276 to every 15 minutes, then one journey could be renumbered 276A and could take in Springfield Ave in Lye and Hagley Road in Stourbridge to enable the 298/9 to be withdrawn and open up additional journey opportunities !

Have to see what the dudley review brings eh? Though i see you point that changing one bit of the 276 will cover the 298/299 plus the 9 has got the lye to stourbridge stretch covered

On it again today, so now will it make it 5 days in a row tomorrow or being as it is Saturday service tomorrow, will they have a spare single?
