NX have been trying to withdraw the 886 for nearly two years.

It's current loadings are unviable to justify a dedicated provision, hopefully the X51 merger will relieve capacity issues on the Walsall - Birmingham corridor and sustain the service for the cluster of kids within the Great Barr and Walsall area.

If it was going to be that useful then why isn't there more journeys operating it?

Back in the early days of the 951, all journeys went to Bearwood via Five Ways, but didn't that get withdrawn due to congestion/reliability issues?

As long as it doesn't mess up the rest of the X51, it's fine by me. (But then again, it's not often I need Brum anyway!)

I shouldn't worry - it's only a single journey each school day that extends to / from the school

And it will also provide a link for workers from that side of city to Five Ways

Not gonna lie I assumed the 886 ran down the Bristol Road not via 5 Ways
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

The 886 used the Bristol Road.
Traveline WM shows the X51 will also use the Bristol Road.
It'd probably be more useful if it actually went to Five Ways.
Though I suppose if you were to change onto the 8 its only a minute or 2 to Five Ways from the Bristol Road, or about a 15 minute walk.

When was the last time Walsall to Pelsall journeys terminated at Shortlands Lane?

Remember early to mid 80's, 346E journeys terminating there!

4606 ended up coming out again as a change bus on the 51 again. Also 4607 was out on the 10 earlier. I believe it was it's first time out since transferring to Walsall.

I saw 4606 in the end in Walsall but not 07, typical... 4608 was still clinging on at BC today, on the 29.

4607 | WA37/41

The deckers on evening 37 & 41 will be normal from now on. I was informed by a Walsall inspector that there was an email sent other night regarding the deckers on 37 & 41. The vehicle type ALX400/DD is allocated on the boards that have evening 37 & 41; which are 41/01, 41/03, and 41/05.
