Oh, do nx have plans for them then? BC maybe?

Off course NX have plans for them, they have plans for all 1535 operational vehicles! Just wondering why you had a guess at 6 vehicles for Coventry and think you may have the correct number

Because 4763-4768 are different to 4769-4776 regarding interior and you said not all are going to Coventry

The Fox 4846

Just a thought but what about, 4733 - 4737 & 4763 - 4767 to Coventry, makes 10 plus same interior and engine except for the high backed seats. And 4768 - 4776 to either BC, PB of WB?

4763-4776 are all identical interiors, once they have been retrimmed

And that will take quite a long time, may I ask why there getting rid of the leather seats?

Liberator9

Probably because the leather now looks a bit worse for wear - better to have smart retrimmed seats than worn out leather.

It takes the trimshop a couple of days to retrim a bus, not exactly a long time

Liberator9

NX do refurb and repaint pretty quick - already got through a fair number of the 48XX Enviro 400s and some of the 57 E400s.

Yes but there focusing on getting 474* and 48** at the moment, so it won't be soon, surely leather is still respected as a luxury for customers. I mean I haven't travelled on a leather seated e400 so can't cast a judgement, but surely they can't be that worn out, I mean the diamond Royales are still in outstanding conditions

Will they still a high back seat or normal seat, if you can say.

Liberator9

Leather seats over time wear out - the leather crumples up. The Royales will be in better condition due to the lower passenger numbers - the E400s have high loads in comparison and thus wear down. I have leather buses on my route and personally prefer normal fabric - hate the sliding around and looks worn out fairly quickly. I'd rather have a good quality fabric seat than worn out leather seat.

4764 delivered to Coventry today, 4763 finished at Walsall, 4766 being repanelled, two more to go in in the next week, and the rest that are going to Coventry aren't far behind, don't just guess what is being done by what has been done in the past

I disagree with you on that one, leather seats are the comfiest seats out, the platinum 900s/957s are a bit of a letdown because they only have partial leather seating. I agree that nx have high usage, but so do diamonds, having many years on the 9,4/4H and 002
