Ah, no wonder we've started to receive some of SY's buses at TF.
This is a personal appeal... For Pete's Sake just save the #!@?$&% Scania's - don't let them follow the Dennis Falcons!

Possible orders for Wales?
Some of these must be the shorter (standard) version...

27 Wright Streetlite MH - 0/27

5 Optare Versa - 5/5
5 Yorkshire Tiger

As you can see, still plenty to be confirmed!

Been looking through this again.

In terms of the North East-around 550 vehicles-and 51 coming this year, it looks as if Arriva are really trying to improve and up their game up here. Also those for the Durham 23 are certain to be standard length Streetlites.

I was also wondering if anyone could clarify what "service X18 MAX" means? I am aware it refers to the Newcastle to Berwick service (4 hour journey!!) but couldn't work out whether it was some sort of brand name or what?

Appreciate it's the wrong region but worth a try!!

To be honest, these orders look a bit of a poor deal so far for Wales/Shire Counties and areas like Southend etc. Midlands and North East have fared well though. Mind you, there are lots of S..KHN darts to replace, Olympians and particularly on routes like the X18, frequent upgrades are essential.

Only 2 Olympians left at ANE I believe and both are withdrawn.  Most of the S-KHN Darts left are at Darlington, guess there will be a cascade of vehicles from somewhere to replace these.  Seems the MAX spec includes leather seats and Wi-fi but not clear how this compares to Sapphire spec.

There are at least 6 at Ashington and yes the KHN's are at Darlington along with some Mark 1 Dart/slf's which look in a state. I imagine the cascade will involve Durham vehicles off the 23 same with vehicles from the significant number being put into Redcar. Darts or solo's will most likely transfer to Darlington where arriva should be making some money.

I didn't know it included those so thanks for the info. Tbh that route needs it...

The "MAX" offering is one step down from "Sapphire", intended to upgrade service levels on the interurban routes. As stated it offers leather seating and free wi-fi, but without the dedicated drivers, power points etc.
It will be introduced first on the X10/X11 Blyth-Newcastle express services, then rolled out on the X14/14's, X15, X18 later in the year, X14 with ADL E400's converted, X15 is getting cascaded coaches (from Shires??) and X18 new ADL E400. The X10/X11 will be launched on the existing branded VDL Geminis. The livery is due to be a sort of opposite to Sapphire, with the colours swapped around, similar to the example shown on the E200 mock-up for Arriva Yorkshire's Wakefield network.

Thanks for that tyresmoke-really, really useful. And welcome to a new member!! :)

I know a lot of the current e400's in Newcastle are currently off for refurb but I didn't know they intended to up their game that much. The X15 really does need coaches on there, as do the 85, 685, X85 routes down South. Certainly ANE is getting a bit of an upgrade this year!!

Do you have a link to this Arriva Yorkshire e200 as I can't seem to find it...

Thanks!

That livery looks very nice, definitely a pleasant change from 'interurban'.
