I photographed all five 871-875 new Coventry buses on the 2/3 services today. Two drivers at the wheel of the buses I travelled on  told me that they were very nice buses to drive. I did not like the high step in the gangway, otherwise the buses were very smooth, and did not sound like 'shuttle buses' as wwas described on this forum.

Only four new buses started today.
4206 covered for 873
872 was changed over with 1594 at 08:32.

873 is now back in service replacing 4206.

Yesterday I thought I saw a Gemini on the 4, and I'm certain I saw an 21 branded Enviro on the 23.

Joni got there first in the other thread. Sorry for wasting a post.

I'm very pleased Coventry are getting an additional spare bus for route 2/3.
Numbered 876 it will carry the new National Express Coventry livery, seen here parked on delivery.
https://www.flickr.com/gp/92409298@N06/TP6033
It will have all the things I expect from a modern bus,
Pleasant interior,
Cumfy seats in warm welcoming colour,
Large signs on cove panels including displays showing all stops on route, Coventry related features and contact details
Audio visual next stop information,
Clock
Racks for timetables and publicity
Wi-fi,
Power point for charging phone,
Clear destination displays front and rear with large route numbers.
Sign to show how many seats are available upstairs
It will have a large NX bus operator of year display on the rear with a space for the year to be inserted.

It'd be a case of "Metrobus" returns to Coventry then if that entered service, just the Go Ahead company not MCW!

I caught 873 on the 2 today and agree entirely,

I also think that the short wheelbase is excellent for the routes they're operating.
I'm guessing eventually they'll find their way on to routes like the 18A or 1.

Only critisism is the fact that there are no front facing seats at the front, like the double deckers. :P

Withdrawn then?

How many Merc's are left? When is 1678 likely to be withdrawn? (My favourite/best merc in the fleet).

Thanks
