I think the Wheatley St depot is now celebrating 30 years of use? It replaced the former Sandy Lane [ho ho ho!] and Harnall Lane depots.

Opened March 1986 - 31 years fairly soon.

There was a short article about Coventry's depot in Coach&Bus weekly, last week, telling of 3 decades of the depot that have grown to hold 139 buses, 19 bus routes and  450 employee ands 26 different nationalities. There's a picture of Phil Bateman, returning to the foundation Stone to mark the 30th aniversary, he was
chairman of West Midlands County Council.

The fleet total - the numbers of buses based at Wheatley Street is around 155 today (but it was over 190 in early 1987). I guess the period straight after Harnall Lane East closed and before Sandy Lane closed (i.e. March - Oct 1986) it was slightly lower. I don't actually know how many vehicles were based at the older garages prior to closure, but combined it was probably well over 200.

I assume the 139 buses at Coventry mentioned in Coach and Bus Weekly is the pvr.
