The lights are normally a problem there.

There are temporary traffic lights by Forest Lane, forgot to mention!

Yeah they didnt seem to be working properly, letting about 3 cars through then suddenly changing. 1hr 50 min brum to landywood , if you factor in the roadworks to cannock prob talking 2hrs plus

To be honest, that's one reason I prefer to go back direct Willenhall to Bloxwich on the 326, at night, due to various issues.(You still have to contend with the lights by the Bell in Bloxwich though!)

I have to come Walsall way of a morning, as there's no early 326's I can rely on!

Only come back via Walsall at night, if there's something I need!

I think 1834 has broken down in West Bromwich bus station, seen it just now parked on stand A, it's ment to be due out of merry hill in 23 mins and got into West Bromwich ontime.

Was a lovely surprise to be onboard 4566 on the 51 to Birmingham today!

Would the Walsall to Cannock leg of the X51 be commercially viable these days? I use it two to three times a week for work and get first one from cannock which is usually quite busy when i get on in landywood, and the one passing us on the way into cannock is usually rammed, i get 3.25 or 3.55 from brum home and its usually really full from walsall, for example the one leaving walsall at 16.12 yesterday was literally full up and dosn with standing passengers!

This year I caught the X51 back from Birmingham after a college event and the 15:30 ish I think from Brum to Cannock was absolutely Rammed. I was stood til just after the Scott Arms but we gained more passengers from there to Walsall where I got off. I assume it might have been rammed as the last X51 to Walsall has turned up before. But it was still rammed and got buiser. I always thought it used to be commercially viable, as My Dad remembers the X51 to Cannock of an evening being busy

Certainly before deregulation, as various versions of the 301/302 etc, it managed a half hourly evening & Sunday service.

(Obviously, before @Tony says, it was before the return of the train!)

Can someone clarify something for me, was the chop down of the old 951 service down to the train service, or did construction of BNRR have something to do with it, due to delays ?

To be fair the all day 951 ( and the 3xx Cannock service) remained running for quite a lot of years after the through train to brum started in early 90s

Is Walsall garage currently short of buses?  Past few days I've single deckers on the 51/X51

Does anyone know how many buses they currently have off the road?

I think with the hydrogen buses being off the road, don't help them.

Yes Tony has said this there a lot more single deckers than Double Deckers at WA. The Hydrogens are out service but they do have 3 buses on loan of which 2 are Euro 6 I think 5408 might be to the other two being 4752 and 6108 they have also got 4770 permanently so that's 3 Double deckers. There will be a Double Decker probably coming off a school route or local route after doing a school route that will probably be put on the 51 and X51 ie a Platty, E400, 4125 or a StreetDeck.

A streetdeck was on the 51 this afternoon

Nice to see 5 street decks out in service in a day. Let's hope it lasts. I've noticed they are using most of them on the 51 service whilst the hydrogens are out of service.
