Notices / Bus enthusiasts
January 27, 2023, 05:18:32 PM
I have made this plea before so sorry to have to repeat it. Kev's welcomes bus enthusiasts and we always have . However those taking photographs must accept that some drivers from all Companies may have a very valid reason why they do not want their pictures taken so when they indicate this to you please respect their wishes.

It is not acceptable when a driver asks you not to take his picture you give him the "bird" and then complain to their management when they became equally abusive

Thank you all for your understanding

All vehicles are tracking on Ticketer so not sure why you cannot see them

Well it has been a year to forget with the fire we experienced in March where we lost 21 vehicles. Somehow we have pulled through, with the help of those I have thanked before, and we are now prepared for the New Year with great enthusiasm. We are ready for the new routes, 10, 55 and 88 with drivers trained and a strange collection of euro6 vehicles, just whilst we await our new fleet to arrive April or May. We will also be two or three ticket machines short for the first few days but these will be on the 19 service, due to Ticketer not being able to configure them over Christmas.
It would be remiss of me not to thank the Senior Management team of NatEx West Midlands who have allowed our staff to travel on the 10 and 10S distributing new timetables to passengers. We may well be in competition but we all have the same goal which is to improve the Network in order to protect the future of our industry and our staff.
It just remains to wish all members of this forum and the greater transport family a good and a prosperous New Year from us all at Kev's

Quote from: winston on December 14, 2022, 08:43:37 PMThere won't be, as NXWM currently operate the 10A /10C

Kev's will be operating the 88, the old 288, using the Town Centre route

TfWM has awarded a new tender to KEVS for the operation of the 10, 10S, 38 and 42 services for a period of 5 years from 1 January 2023 which is good news for all users of these services which it was feared would be discontinued. 10S, 38 and 42 will be combined to form an hourly service from Longbridge to Quinton Tesco. New vehicles are on order specifically for this route and they are due either April or May next year

Quote from: DMCL on October 04, 2022, 04:54:57 PMMight I ask why Bova Futura coach SF09 JWE was "not a good vehicle to operate"?
mechanically poor and not nice to drive

Quote from: DMCL on September 16, 2022, 07:00:45 AMThanks so much for the revised Kev's fleet list. I was particularly pleased to see the inclusion of the two very rare Tata Hispano Intea coaches PO12 EOK and PO62 HNH - photo of PO62 HNH attached.
In May I saw a Bova Futura coach SF09 JWE operating one of Kev's school services in Redditch. I notice this vehicle hasn't been included in the revised fleet list and I wonder if it was just on loan temporarily from BASE. Has anyone else seen this vehicle? You cannot view this attachment.
This vehicle was indeed on temporary hire from BASE, now been returned. Filled a gap but certainly not a good vehicle to operate

Purchased for home to school work as PSVAR, will not be used on local bus unless absolutely necessary and then only Worcester. Sorry for the delay

With Thandi and others going out of business I wonder what has happened to their mechanics, are they looking for work as Kev's has a vacancy

Two vehicles added to the fleet today, ex Johnsons YW68OVV and YW68OVW. The two 17 plate vehicles taken on short term loan after the fire will be returned to the lease company next week

Quote from: ContainsNuts on June 01, 2022, 08:47:43 AMHence my comment earlier - it's a free market so if it's that easy why don't you start up your own bus company instead of constantly whining about the current ones?

Or maybe you just like to complain - I've never seen a positive comment from you yet!

Enthusiasts should be supporting the bus companies through their difficulties, not sitting in an armchair ripping them to shreds for their own entertainment. If you can't support the industry you are enthusiastic about then why bother?

A poor service provider should not be supported as all they are doing is literally forcing passengers away from all services. Better no advertised service at all than a poor unreliable service

Anyone know of a PSV/HGV mechanic looking for a change. Competitive salary, no weekends, no late evenings, overtime available, old established small family business. PSV licence would be good but not a game changer

And another one to add to the list. ADL E200 registration YX22OJD operating on the 42 service from Tuesday 17 May. We now have a full fleet of Euro 6 buses on TfWM routes and three spares only 11 weeks after losing 21 vehicles due to the fire. Many thanks due to Mistral, Dawson's, Green Bus, Ticketer, TfWM, Worcester CC  and of course everyone on this site for your continued support

Quote from: MW on May 08, 2022, 03:22:12 PMMakes sense. I believe they were uprated to Euro 6 before entering service at Johnson's.
The two MCW were always Euro 6
