How many go short distance Walsall to Bloxwich on the X51, as the 31 / 32's do get delayed at times?

Surprised the little sods havent been back to the Kfc at the bottom of my street, as there was a famous video taken in there, in the last 18 months or so!

Have they got fed up in Blakenall now?

Seems to be here or Beechdale currently!

Been told by my other WB based sister, that another Diamond vehicle has taken a wrong turn into Bratt Street, she only noticing when hearing the reversing beep.

Double decker apparantly.

Quote from: BlackCountryBusSpotter on April 07, 2024, 11:15:59 PMI once got an Arriva DAF Alx 400 on the 334 with a boxed PS3, I wouldn't try to get on the 34/37 or 39 with a Flat Screen TV Boxed or not risk of it being broken
Well, it would be a fair walk from Currys Pc World Wednesbury to the nearest bus stop on both the Darlo & Dudley routes.

I bought a laptop in the Comet closing down sale at Bescot several years ago & bought it back on the 401e & the Bloxwich route, plus I had a nice compact hi fi from Clearance in Walsall & bought it back on the bus.

Probably would still have it now, if it wasn't for the fact it wasn't DAB + compatible!

Quote from: Justin Tyme on April 06, 2024, 09:42:09 PMThe open top Fleetline, PDU 125M, was the very last Daimler bus built, and therefore the last full-size bus chassis built in Coventry.  Because of its history, West Midlands PTE donated it to the Coventry Motor Museum when it was withdrawn.

Then, when Coventry City won the FA cup in 1987, the museum ignored its history and controversially converted it to open top.  It was along time ago but even so I would hope that any operator donating a bus would include a clause requiring the vehicle to be kept complete.
Wasnt there any already open topped vehicle avaolable for use at that point in time?

(PDU is the vehicle seen in archive footage isnt it?)

Wmt still had theirs in 1987 didnt they, so why wasnt they contacted to provide an open topper?

Surely you'd know someone with a car, or get a taxi?

Must admit I had a ride over to Coventry Wednesday just gone, so it was an early start, but I had to put the bins out anyway!

Pleasant ride, but is there no other way of serving that bit past Meriden, where you come off the A45, where you have to double back on yourself?

It's been sometime since I caught a bus to Coventry, as most recent trips pre Covid were by train.

Think the last time by bus was in the 159 days, but did the 159 do the 'double back' as well?

Surprised 4453 wasn't offered to the museum?

It was withdrawn for a mechanical reason wasn't it?

Asked Mark Fitchew via one of his blogs, & this is his answer.

Bear in mind, he's a regular driver on the X3, which crosses the WM boundary into Staffs.

Regarding the N Bus, our Innit ticket machines automatically remove the option of issuing an N Bus outside the County, coming up with the NX Extra ticket instead, the same price but only valid on our buses.
We're able to issue these in the West Midlands as well but it's difficult, and indeed, confusing for passengers, to understand the difference between the two tickets, so, rather than having to ask every passenger if they're going beyong the boundary or not, we just issue an N Bus and accept them on return trips, making sure, if asked, that we let passengers know that out of the boundary, these tickets are only valid on NXWM buses. I hope that helps!

Quote from: Wba_lad on April 02, 2024, 11:06:51 AMYeah they do, I'm not sure if they have 2 but they definitely have one, if I knew how to attach a photo I'd put the photo in as I've got a few photos of it.
There's an 'Insert an image' option, next to the You Tube logo.

And the same again tonight in Beechdale, according to X!

So it's going round the outside of Beechdale then?

(Have they got fed up in Blakenall then?)
