Ah the new mayor cares about as much as the previous mayor did about Coventry.
#2
That's what it is there for - to serve those communities in the "back streets". If you want a quicker route you can get the 36, which either takes 51 or 56 minutes depending on which one you get.

Well if mr Labour mayor starts to push franchising, there'll be no point in Mobico/NX investing in new vehicles for the fleet as they'll likely lose out on the franchises and have their stock transferred to those wonderful Midlands-based companies like Go-Ahead and Abellio.

Well Birmingham is in need of an open-top tour bus to tour the roadworks.

I've been in Dorset and Hampshire this week.

Is there any reason why their bus stop road markings are so massive? I saw this on a side street, but they're pretty much the same sizes on main roads as well.

There's no height limit signs on the tunnels.

I'm sure Chaserider used to run the AV1 service, a Google search brings up the Football Specials thread where it's mentioned that Arriva took it over in 2023.

To return it to being a full circular route (once he franchises everything).

Edited to add online article where it is mentioned : https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/secret-dates-jam-sandwiches-school-29047686

I saw 4847 being recovered with a tow truck from Auckland Drive, just before the junction at Arran Way at 01:50 this morning. Bustimes suggests it had been there since around 00:15.

's about time NXWM got an open-top-bus.

Quote from: Jay71 on April 20, 2024, 02:04:53 PMThe 23/24 now stop on Carrs Lane & outside the Square Peg. Why the need to have two stops so close together?
Carrs Lane is for Moor Street Station, the Square Peg is for the central shopping area, at a guess?

1 Brandon Road, Willenhall Way

2 Brandon Road, Willenhall Way

3 Brandon Road, Herald Way

4 Brandon Road, Herald Way (the 2021-2023 pictures show it as having no flagpole)

5 Brandon Road, East By-Pass

6 Brandon Road, East By-Pass.

I looked at the timetables for the NXC services using those stops and there was no mention of HSBC.

Back in the day, pubs and official places were used as marking points for bus stops. I still remember the terminus for the Chelmsley Wood buses being the MEB, not Pine Square. On Meadway, I still refer to the Macadown Pub that has had a Lidl built on it, knocked down and rebuilt in the last 20 years. It does look like they are generally going for crossroad indicators for bus stops rather than using places that may not be there in the future.

I'm confused as to what stops is being talked about? I went on Google to Herald Way, Coventry (which is where A-Line is shown to be), and all the bus stops around it that are visible on Google Street view have street name/street name on them.

Stagecoach / Re: AV82 - Aston Villa Shuttle Service
April 11, 2024, 08:09:32 PM
From the press release at the top:

'Ian Campbell, Operations Manager at Stagecoach, added: "We are delighted to be helping fans with a quick, comfortable, and cost-effective shuttle service to get to and from Villa Park. We are pleased to be working with Aston Villa to help make supporter travel safer and more sustainable."'

Ah, yes, sustainable travel, with vehicles travelling 55 miles from the bus company's depot to carry out the "sustainable travel". (note: if they're still not allowed to use the motorways when travelling to/from depot then it'll be a bit further than that.)
