Adverse findings are made under sections 17 (3) (aa) and 17 (3) (c) of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981.
The operator retains its repute albeit it is tarnished.
Financial standing continues to be met.
The operator no longer has the necessary professional competence, section 14ZA (2) of the 1981 Act. I give a period of six months grace to appoint a new transport manager.
Transport manager Alan Radnor loses his repute as a transport manager and he is disqualified from holding or applying for any transport manager position within the EU until he passes new transport manager examinations.
Authority is reduced (effectively curtailed) from 12 discs to 9 discs.
I travelled on the 291, both directions recently. It was operated by Optare Solo YK05 CBY and also Mercedes O814 Plaxton Beaver T74 WGH. The latter surprised me as its some time since I saw one anywhere on stage carriage work.

I fancied a trip to Tenbury yesterday. Saw this heap was on the route AGAIN, rapidly decided against another 90-odd minutes of spinal damage.

Is it DDA compliant?
does not look too good if they are running a none dda compliant bus after public inquiry.

Not 100% sure but i think it may be additional to the 2l L As they do not have enough vehicles that are dda, and big enough for number of people carried . and there 291 service is not very good

I thought it might, when I travel to and from Bewdley and Kidderminster I always catch the 125 rather than the 2/2L even though it is half the frequency.
It is so tedious travelling around the estates on that part of the route and that doesn't even include the saving on the other side of Bewdley which the new 291 will also benefit from!

This is a significant reduction in service provision.
Isn't it crazy to think that 20 years ago there was an hourly 192 from Birmingham to Ludlow with 2 hourly extension Hereford.
Now the Ludlow Hereford section is now split at Leominster, 292 is an offpeak 2 hourly service and the 192 runs to Halesowen only.
Weekdays conventionally includes Saturday.
;
At one point there was going to be no daily service at all between Ludlow and Leominster - not sure if it ever actually happened.

I really don't know how they STILL get away with using that Mercedes in service amazes me how the traffic commissioner have never pulled them up about that...
If it's registered as a coach i.e no standing passengers allowed it doesn't have to be SAD compliant "yet".

Any updates regarding R&B travel should be posted in this thread. They currently do services 291, 292 & 790. With The 292 receiving a rather controversial timetable amendment affecting the Ludlow town stopping points recently.
@BusMan Greg - Or better still, why not just use the existing thread! Winston
the 292 has become limited stop from the hop pole on the cleobury road, bewdley load street, the fish shop at catchems end, west midlands safari park ,kidderminster general hospital the swan centre, kidderminster bus station . some thing seams strange though it states that the 292 terminates at the hospital after the bus station like diamonds 42. think it is strange as it goes past the hospital on the way in to kidderminster ,do not know if it goes back to the bus station after or route is changed . this is on r&b's facebook page.
It would appear that they are intending to save time by not going into the hospital on the way in and letting passengers to stay on at Kiddermister BS to alight on the outward.

they did not go into the hospital as the stops inward and outward are just outside the hospital which seams strange that the are going to bus station then back to hospital
The map on traveline showed the stop on a stalk, which I read as meaning it went into the hospital grounds, but now I look closer it shows lots of stops like that. My guess is that having made the service limited stop they decided one of the stops to be missed should be the hospital as passengers for the hospital could then avoid crossing the road by staying on to the bus station and back.

Minsterley perhaps? They've already got both Ludlow town services under their wing and operate to/from Shrewsbury as well.
They might of course be end of tender dates.
Arriva might have tendered for them as they do operate in and around Ludlow and Kidderminster

I highly doubt it as it would involve a large amount of dead mileage to/from Shrewsbury garage and the current 738/740 timetable wouldn't allow for interworking. The 297 in K'minster interworks off an 8 from Telford at Bridgnorth so no dead mileage is involved there.

Interesting that the 291 is mentioned because i was following the 11:00 Kidderminster to Tenbury service yesterday and just near to Bayton there were road works and temporary traffic lights. As we were going through the road works, the bus suddenly stopped to pick someone up. As the single file stretch was quite long, by the time the bus started off, traffic had begun to enter at the other end.
Thankfully there were only a few vehicles which had to reverse back.
Never seen anything like that before!
