When I moved to Worcestershire in 2001 Worcestershire used to print several booklets covering all services within a particular local area, e.g. Worcester City, Wyre Forest etc. which you could buy for about 20p. These didn't last much longer after this and I remember querying this with the Passenger Transport Team at the time and they said that because the major operator in the area (i.e. First) was making service changes so often they couldn't keep them up to date.

Of course First, Whittles and some other operators used to produce their own publicity anyway so WCC did produce leaflets for tendered services for a couple of years afterwards, but don't ask me when they stopped doing this, it was definitely several years ago!

The thing is though is that the faulty blind would have been picked up by a driver, who would have recorded the fault.  From then on, it is engineering's responsibility to ensure that the fault is rectified.  Possibly a lack of capacity in maintenance to do it straight away, which is why it's still out in service.

As I said originally, this has been like this for at least 2 days, surely there is another bus with working blinds that could have gone out on the 125. Or at the very least, could somebody not have knocked out a couple of 125 numbers from a printers to go on the windscreen and side window?

If you see or witness it on any operators services my advice would be to inform the operator directly so they can investigate and deal with it.

I have already raised the issue of wrong blinds a couple of months ago with them and got a standard reply saying they would advise drivers, so no point in doing that again.

I don't see the point of raising the issue with the blinds not working at all. If this has already been ignored  for a couple of days by engineers, drivers, Inspectors and Managers at the depot then sadly they obviously don't care. This shouldn't have to be raised by a member of the public.

Really starting to despair with Kidderminster garage with regard to destination displays, does nobody in management care?

Regularly see buses on the 192 displaying route 7 on there as these two routes interwork. This also used to be an issue on the 1 and 10 when they interworked.

And 32223 has been on the 125 for the last two days with a blank front destination bind and Not In Service on the side and rear with not even a bit of paper in the windscreen to indicate the route.

Love the history on that fleet change sheet from 1986. Reading the various comments did any 45/46** fleetlines run for WMT? Also, we're the 6300 etc fleetlines the 'p' reg ones as I know a few of them operated but only the r/s/t reg ones ran in the 1990s.

Also, looking at that fleet list, what buses were 4290/1 which were moved from SO to LH and QN?

4290/1 were Fleetlines / Park Royal EOF 290/291L. These wouldn't last much longer in service though as according to Malcolm Keeley's West Midlands book, they were both withdrawn in 1986 anyway.

Some minor changes already taking place from this Sunday:
https://nxbus.co.uk/west-midlands/service-updates/minor-timetable-changes-from-sunday-10th-january-2021

With schools being closed and people being urged to work from home, there's definitely less traffic on the roads. I'd have thought it to be prudent to at least introduce the school holiday timetables across the region to reduce the running times.

The 10th of Jan changes were already planned before this lockdown came in as that would be way too quick to get everything in place.

An internal email went out today advising of changes due to this lockdown from the 24th Jan:

There will be some timetable changes from 24 January due to the schools being out and lighter traffic – it will be broadly similar to the service we ran in October half term. We'll post details in garages as soon as we have them to give everyone as much notice as possible.

Obviously things may change if government guidance or circumstances change, but this is the current working assumption.

Presumably one of the cancelled Reading order?

The livery definitely looks "Green Line" doesn't it!

New service 8 from the 26th October:

Rifle Range - Kidderminster - Bewdley - Hales Park.

This replaces the current 1 and 2 and reinstates regular services to Habberley and Bark Hill.

So head office will move at some point then?

Yes, moving to the Coach Station.

Forgive me if I've missed this but why is BY closing (if you can tell us)?

The very basic way to say it is to save money. BY garage and head offices are all going so that means the costs of running the sites go.

I hope not as this site was always useful. I particularly find the timetables easy and clear to print off, unlike some other sources (the new Arriva site for example!).

Seeing as some local authorities e.g. Worcestershire link to the site for planning journeys, I wonder what if any alternatives they will introduce. Pointing to operators websites is no use, as you have to know which operator runs the service you need in the first place. Unless prospective passengers will just be left in the dark and not be able to plan journeys by bus.
