125 has just been on the opening titles of Central News and looks like it will be featured later on in the show as part of their feature about Coventry City being back at Wembley.

30825 front destination screen blank and not working, currently on the 1020 192 from Halesowen.

In the early 90's WB won the Centro tender to operate the Sunday service on route 445 (Smethwick to Brandhall) and published their own timetable leaflet for it. They failed to mention however that there was a Monday to Saturday service which was operated by Midland Red West!

The article is in the new issue of Buses Magazine, so it's not fake news!

Just seen some archive footage of BCT and WMPTE on Central News (West Midlands edition) tonight. Article was about an Oldbury care home that has installed a "bus stop" to encourage memories from it's residents.

Think the photo may have been one of Diamond's fleet?

While strictly just over the Warks border Coventry & W. Mids Mayor are key stakeholders

I hear that massive site expansion is being discussed so good public transport will still be necessary to Coventry rail station.

From Clifford Bridge Rd direct bus services to the station have been decimated by Birmingham based TfWM.
Examples
585 (85) had a 30 min frequency but no longer goes to the rail station.
1 (Diamond) used to serve the rail station. Service canned.
17 used to serve to station but no longer.

As I say it will be interesting to see what happens next?

The 85 is a Warwickshire contract and the 17 is commercial. Yes, the 1 was TfWM subsidised but as they only have a finite amount of money to go around they aren't going to support every possible journey situation especially as mentioned above there are plenty of alternatives that involve a change of bus.

Service X6 won't be stopping in the Hospital grounds according to the Hinckley service changes page.

I would like to confirm this by looking at the new timetable, but it expects me to create an account with Arriva just to view this when I click on the link!

Quote from: JPC on December 08, 2023, 06:44:24 PMYes, It seem NXC keeps agreeing to short term extensions with all operators not willing to bid.
Is there implications or reluctance from other operators in regard to ticketing with Ansty Park apparently being outside the nBus, Network and PlusBus zones?.
Stagecoach could cover the route by extending the X17 from the City to Ansty Park which may reduce the overall mileage and be more reliable.
There's no bidding as such like a Tender as it's a private contract issued by Ansty Park themselves.

If the story is correct than it must have been by one of TfWM's monitoring staff who would check amongst other things that bus station rules are being followed.

Quote from: Ash on October 16, 2023, 05:23:22 PMNew 4/4H timetable from 5th November in partnership with NXWM. Looks like diamond will operate the 4H and NX 4M and share the 4s between West Brom and Walsall. Combined frequency of every 5 mins between Walsall and West Bromwich

Although the entire Evenings and Sundays service will be operated by NX across all the 4 group of services.

Surprisingly, it doesn't seem to have received any promotion on Social Media etc. But, the 292 benefits from am improved frequency of every 75 minutes from today, up from every 120 minutes. Although this means perhaps not an easy to remember timetable, there are far more journeys to travel on.

Quote from: Rachvince53 on September 28, 2023, 08:07:31 PMThe £2.70 is government funded I think. I seem to recall that it was stated back in about June I think that the government funded fares would be increased to this amount in October.
The funded capped bus fare is going up to £2.50 from the 1st November 2023 and will last until 30 November 2024.

The £2.70 fare would have been the max single price had the fare cap not been in place.

Quote from: 2206 on August 28, 2023, 08:58:27 PMI wonder what will happen with the old platform at Snow Hill, it looks very neglected these days.
The plan is to reinstate Platform 4 at Snow Hill for rail use so this will see the site of the old tram platform swept away.

Now for something a bit different!

Old Nat Ex Coach advert from 1990. It looks like the old Banbury Bus Station at the end, so I suspect the new and very quiet motorway was the M40 extension which would have been being built back then.
