It's not that half of the lights aren't working. On the MMCs, when you switch the engine off and leave the electrics on, one row of lights switches off to save on battery power. Then when you restart the bus, those lights remain off and you have to manually switch them on from a button in the cab.

They also sometimes go off with the stop start on ours. If you start it up straight after it turns off I find

I'm currently on 6892 on the 23 so looks like the whole batch may now be in service.

Only one half of the upstairs lights are working so it's very dark up here.
The driver only switched one row of the lights on, pretty much common on all buses

Some of them flash when they stop/start. 6800/6803/6809/6811/6819/6824 are some of them that flash.

When you start a car which already has it lights on, you'll notice the lights flicker whilst the starter motor is in motion. That must be why they flash?

That must be why. One of PB's Platniums interior lights flicker why the stop/start takes place, think it's 6797.

It's not common on the B5s on which I'm used to travelling.

They came on later in the journey. I've no idea how all this works but they seemed to come on automatically when the engine re-started on pulling away from a stop. They stayed on for the remainder of my journey, including when the engine switched off.

The B5's have a more smoother Stop/start, compared to the MMC's. The MMC's is just firm and horrible, 2203/4 both flashed their lights on and off when they had the terrible Stop/start.

Seen ticket inspectors on the way home this evening. First time in ages I've seen them on the Harborne routes. Has there been a rise in fare dodging since the platinums?
Local Routes: 002, 39/39A, X21, 46, 76.
Localish Routes: 18, 23, X22.

:D

Has the hybrids even ventured into Coventry Road bus corridor?

Also, I've noticed 4629 has a dashcam that films interior as well as outside. Is it new?

Every bus in the fleet has those dashcams

Alas, these B5s had managed to remain in such excellent condition internally up until now.
