National Express Coventry / Re: Coventry electric buses

"Looks good,....." Hmmm that depends on your view of the "...extra legroom..." vinyls. Almost makes the Coventry blue stripe surplus/irrelevant.

3 weeks or whatever what happens now? NXWM have any serious interest in the model or are they committed to continue with ADL's EV?

The new branding on the electrics looks very good initially, but then the vinyl vandals get to work. The offside advert covers most of the sky blue strip. Couple of inches at the top of the vehicle remain visible and not much more below the advert. As for those legs and boots what's that all about again? Thought that fetish had been dispensed with by NX. Sadly EO38 ends up losing its good looks!

That's one good looking vehicle!

Thanks Stu hadn't picked up on this.

Tony, is the StreetDeck going to be used in service or is it only with NXWM for assessment? Is there serious interest in the vehicle for possible future acquisitions?

Quote from: Tony on July 09, 2022, 10:00:34 AMThe livery is also restricted as the owners of the new buses, Zenobe, have placed restrictions on colours that can be used.
So is it the case that NXWM could choose any colour provided it was grey or could other colours have been used as part of the new livery but it was decided that grey was the cheapest and easiest to maintain? We're any other liveries even considered?

Quote from: uniquicity on July 08, 2022, 10:46:09 AM1) It's a stretch to call it a new livery. It's an evolution
2) Why would you publicise something so dull anyway
Certainly agree with your 'dull' comment. May be a practical livery but the people of Coventry won't be stopping and going 'wow' as an electric passes them. Disappointing that NXWM haven't pushed the boat out and gone for an outstanding livery. Cheap but not very cheerful.

Why is the new 'grey' livery being introduced with little or no publicity? Previous new liveries have been introduced with vehicles on display in the new livery at that time at various prominent locations. This time, nothing. Why?

Thanks all.

Quote from: Tony on June 14, 2022, 09:26:28 AMNot sure what the problem is, I post every couple of weeks what is in paint
And it is welcome information. I'm trying to understand whether a new livery is being applied along the lines of a recent photo of a vehicle in an all grey livery with a blue stripe or was that a one off for some reason?

Ok I admit defeat. I've never known a previous occassion when a 'new' bus livery, even if it is a trial livery,  has been seen in public but no one appears to know anything about it or is reluctant to talk about it. Presumably time will shed some light on the subject one way or the other.

Quote from: RW on June 09, 2022, 07:26:58 AMTony, I've probably missed a post somewhere but what's the position regarding the 'new' grey livery with red/blue stripe that's being talked about on here?  Are all repaints coming out of Walsall in that livery or only certain vehicles? Is the 'platinum' livery being abandoned and all vehicles will appear in grey in future?
