Quote from: busboy31 on April 11, 2024, 07:41:10 PMSo has the logos been put back on the front? And also the logos that were on the nearside bumper before the accident.
The paint shop always replace logos and fleet numbers

4817 back into service this afternoon, but I suspect someone has already noticed.

Quote from: Justin Tyme on April 10, 2024, 09:40:57 PMThere were a few others: 36L to Millhouse Road/Bierton Road, 48L to Maypole, 67L to Chester Road/Tangmere Drive, 90L to Lambeth Road/Queslett Road.

The letters D, G and I were not used, no doubt because they could have been mistaken for numbers.

It's worth pointing out that letters A, B and C (sometimes also others) were normally used for short workings from the outer terminus, not from city.  For example, at the Maypole there was at least one 50B working to Rea Street/Digbeth.
D being on the blinds ended up quite useful after 1973, Birmingham buses lined to Sheepcote Street regularly had to show 16D when on the 160 to Kingshurst

Quote from: Steve3229vp on April 10, 2024, 05:45:08 PMThe 5 (Portland Road to Perry Common) went up to L (Perry Common/Enderby Road) which I think was the only service that did
The blinds only went up to L so that certainly was the route that went the furthest

Quote from: busboy31 on April 09, 2024, 06:51:45 PMSo when the front is repainted, will it head straight back to PB for MOT?
It's still got nearly 5 months MoT

Quote from: Jack on April 09, 2024, 02:31:14 PMI don't get why the X21/X22 didn't do what the 61/63 are now doing, even though that's also another set of services pushed out of the City...
It's due to capacity on the bus stops

Changing at Aston avoids Birmingham New Street, that's the most direct rail route

Quote from: Sandy Lane on April 06, 2024, 11:47:43 AMPopped in there and see they still have the open top decker on display as used by the CCFC cup final celebrations way back in time.

Got me thinking about buses used in Coventry and what looks like a lack of more recent ex Coventry buses.
Does NXC ever offer a retired Coventry bus to the museum?
Would be good to see a more modern donation and a link to NXC who have been running Coventry services for quite some time now.

Have you thought the Museum might not a more modern bus. Where would they put it?

Quote from: winston on April 05, 2024, 09:50:10 PMIs there any connection between Roberts & Zenobe?
No, just Roberts have a huge secure piece of land and are willing to let people park buses there for a fee. Green Bus/Busworks have used them as well

Quote from: don on April 05, 2024, 07:05:11 PMOk - I'm v surprised - couldn't they be pressed into service somewhere (eg BC), replace Euro 6 and enable them to be cascaded to replace non Euro 6 somewhere? I guess there are many reasons why not, and if necessary could cover as maintenance spares at CV if necessary - presumably why they're stored there.
No again sorry, although parked at Coventry it is only because there's room to park them there, along with one of the Z buses, the other 4 Z buses are at Roberts. All are part of Zenobe's reserve now and if anyone wants to use them including NX then they have to pay Zenobe's spot hire fee. If they could be pressed into service anywhere then E163 upwards would be in service.

Quote from: don on April 05, 2024, 06:41:29 PMIm sure that, ultimately is the case, but I can't imagine this would happen without very good reason, and no doubt NXWM would be involved in that decision, if not instigate the discussion. No doubt the actual reasoning for this particular decision is commercial in confidence but I'd hazard a guess it would be something like the batteries deteriorating and causing maintenance/operational issues.
No, Zenobe wanted three of the Z fleet into service. The three E buses are parked in Coventry garage yard fully operational with no defects.

Quote from: TGZac on April 05, 2024, 05:42:40 PMDoes anyone know why E004, E017 and E018 were swapped with some of the Zenobe spares?
Because that's how the contract works.

Zenobe can swap out any vehicle they wish
