Arriva / Re: Arriva Leicester

Quote from: Tony on October 26, 2023, 06:37:16 PMArriva Merseyside 2926 has arrived in Derby, I photographed it in service yesterday

Midlands 3768/9 are now 3230/1 with Merseyside in exchange, at Bootle depot. There's quite a lot of swaps to get younger vehicles into the Merseyside fleet due to a 15 year rule, a fair amount of '62' plate Pulsars from Yorkshire are also getting swapped for older Merseyside examples....

Of note is the first of the swaps between Arriva Merseyside & Leicester, 4416 YX64VOP is now 4734 in the Arriva Merseyside fleet (Bootle depot) and entered service on the 62 in Liverpool today. Unsure what's gone to Leicester in return as Arriva Merseyside 4411/19/20 (58 plate), 4423-4425, 4427-4434 (09 plate) are all said to be destined for Leicester....

23/24 branded 6878 noted in Solihull on the X2 today, not being a local, I've no idea whether it's an unusual occurrence....

Quote from: Cheese on November 24, 2022, 08:20:31 PMThese Solos are longer ones so maybe they need shorter buses, is that one of the Solos on Speke contracts?
Yes, the 3/3A/166/188 routes recently won on tender (although the 166/188 seem to be mostly Pulsars). As it happens, I caught up with 2167 today

E200 2150 now transferred to Arriva Merseyside as 2167, several others to follow in exchange for Solo SR's, first to Midlands being MX12KXH (Merseyside's 717).

Steven Knight Media has a list of what I assume is most of the Stagecoach fleet in Birmingham at the current time (481 vehicles), it's updated regularly https://docs.google.com/viewerng/viewer?url=http://stevenknightmedia.co.uk/onewebmedia/CWG%2520Fleet%2520%2520Version%25203%2520%2520%2520%2520C1857%253A03%2520%252027_07_2022.pdf&_r=3

More to add from Flickr should anyone be keeping a list of what's in use so far....

10660, 10728, 10803, 10806, 10807, 10824, 10834, 10872, 10908, 10911, 10926, 10930, 11121, 11147, 11221, 11223, 15343, 15708, 26010

Most seem to have been taken around the Aston University area (Jennens Road, James Watt Queensway and Moor Street Queensway, also have seen pics taken on Woodcock Street). Also seems Edgbaston Park Road and outside Birmingham International station are other decent locations.

I'm heading down tomorrow for several hours so hopefully plenty more to report....suspect the numbers will go up considerably more once the games start proper....

Text from the article (can't post the link as CleanTalk blocks it as spam), obviously the press can be wrong of course....

"A truck and coach reportedly left the carriageway following a collision on the M6. Police, firefighters and paramedics - including the air ambulance - were called out to the southbound carriageway through Stoke-on-Trent at 11.50am yesterday.
But despite the crash there were no serious injuries. One witness said the vehicles ended up off the carriageway.
Writing on StokeonTrentLive's Facebook page, she said: "Hope the coach driver was okay. Both ended up down the embankment of our farm. Air ambulance landed in our field."

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance, a paramedic officer, a doctor and the air ambulance - with two paramedics on board - to the scene.
A spokeswoman said: "Crews arrived to find both drivers out of their vehicles and on the hard shoulder. Following assessment by ambulance staff, both were found with minor injuries. The HGV driver declined further hospital treatment and was discharged at the scene. The bus driver was conveyed by land ambulance to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for further checks."

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service sent crews from KidsgroveNewcastle and Sandyford to the scene - and found nobody was trapped. All three lanes of the southbound carriageway - between Junctions 15 and 16 - were shut off at around 12.10pm.
As reported by StokeonTrentLive at the time lanes gradually reopened in the following hours - with long delays through the area."

Quote from: Tony on July 17, 2022, 03:06:20 PMI've been sent a fleet list (which I can not publish publicly) but a total of 598 Stagecoach vehicles are expected
Good grief....that sounds like more than the amount for the 2012 Olympics!. I know you say you can't publish the list which is fair enough (I'm sure a list will appear soon anyway....), but are vehicles expected from all Stagecoach areas???

Thanks!

Expect Stagecoach Merseyside E400MMC's 10815, 10816, 10817, 10818, 10821, 10822, 10823, 10842, 11103, 11104 & 11105 to make the trip to Birmingham in the next few days, all are at Rock Ferry depot before heading south, all are without any adverts.

A posting on a group on FB hints at some First Kernow vehicles expected to make the trip up to the Midlands for the Commonwealth Games (E400MMC's) so not just Stagecoach if that is the case (I recall First also supplied vehicles to the Glasgow games a few years back).....also I believe some Stagecoach vehicles have already arrived in readiness. I'm likely to head down to the West Mids once or twice to catch some of the workings on camera so if anyone is able to give ideas of good photting locations, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
