Just a random thought from a post I made earlier. I remembered to post this at last to make a thread for the Hall Of Fame of the bus world. When posting your buses of fame, they can be for any reason, either a reputation, rarity, sounds, rare combination, prototype etc.
Please be aware a bus can only be posted once. You must post an image of the vehicle and a short explanation of why it deserves to be in the Hall Of Fame.
So, here goes.
NXWM 4089 - For sounding the most like a Leyland Lynx when pulling off.

Others might not recognise the characteristic whine of one of these pull off, but if you want to flash back to the "good-old days", travel on 4089.
Pensnett Garage - For having an unrivalled number of demonstrator vehicles.

The Green Bus 101 - for being the fastest Trident!
Tony's photo - believe it or not, I don't have one of my own...
NXWM 4900 'Jennifer' - for being the fastest and smoothest E400
(https://wmbusphotos.com/NXWM/4700-4879/twm4900.130831.jpg)
An excellent example of BC's most recent acquisitions... Quick and smooth!
4053 - the only President with LCD screens (that don't even work)
4518 - a Gemini that always has its coolers on
(https://wmbusphotos.com/NXWM/4475-4699/twm4517.120922.jpg)
4234 - the only ALX without a rear grille/radiator, this one also always has its coolers on
(https://wmbusphotos.com/NXWM/4225-4474/twm4234.130829.jpg)
London Borismaster - Best overall advert?
Why not one from London? Good going!
Didn't think I'd include an Optare but here is one! 20833 is the fastest Optare
(https://wmbusphotos.com/diamondpages/diamond20833.140524.jpg)
1916 - Smoothest suspension
(https://wmbusphotos.com/NXWM/1750-1953/twm1916.100403.jpg)
1833 - Smartest Scania Omnilink; because it still has the silver light surrounds and the smart NX red - still looks freshly painted 2 years later
(https://wmbusphotos.com/NXWM/1750-1953/twm1833.120621.jpg)
4722 - Best sounding 07 reg Enviro 400
(https://wmbusphotos.com/NXWM/4700-4879/twm4722.140214.jpg)
Will add more at a later date!
@Liberator9 those things really fly. The 06 plate Woosh one I had on the 355 on Friday was a rocket.
@Matt I agree! Had it on the S2 this afternoon and the driver thrashed it constantly; I have never had such a fast bus - apart from a Citaro ;)
4329 - for having a distinctive whistle in when accelerating, sounds heavenly to say the least
4642 - best sounding Gemini at WB
Not from the West Midlands region. I think it's quite nice, and special...
I present to you, an open top Gemini.

4718 - Best sounding enviro, also replicated as a model (UKBUS6014)

4698 - First single door Enviro 400 produced

No Pictures sorry. But 4246 looking 'fresh' from Repaint/Refurb and with new front LED. 4432, TWM Low Floor Livery, with Morrisons All over Ad & (I think) the only bus with a cash tray. (4432 on the 24)

4246 has neither LED or has been repainted, I suspect you saw 4262 out on the 94 today

I guess so. I mention it because I rode it on the 101, I guess I have a short term memory! :)
4136 - my favourite Trident at NXWM, I'm not even entirely sure why. 4125-4140 are my favourite batch of Tridents. 4136 also either has had it's rear dot matrix display removed, or never had one to begin with, it's just empty where the rear blind should be
One I think should be added to the Hall of Fame is 4388. Whenever it changes from 2nd to 3rd it always "Clonks" you forward and the gearbox makes a loud bang, reminds me of a Metrobus! Not just that but it has a nice noise in general, no bad screeches or other bad habits.

'Clonking you forward'.....surely that should be in the hall of 'a potential claim!!' :o :o
Give it another couple of years to get worse and it probably will end up there! :D
2 of my contenders for WN:
4015...yes 4015 for once being one of the worst rides ever to now (after some attention) being silky smooth (nearly)
4560
Never mind speed, sound, acceleration this is the smoothest bus in the garage in my opinion (or was)
4391 - Used to have a unique sound on acceleration but something happened to the engine, now the idling noise is way to dull. The suspension is good and the bodywork seems in shape.
4523 - MEGA BEAST!!!!!!! This one was speeding down a really bumpy road at 40mph with it's cooling fan going like mad, the cooling fan has like a mega beast for ages.
This one for having good acceleration, nice suspension and the doors were fine.
Coventry Mercedes 1678, perhaps the best remaining NX Merc?
1705 is mine hands offf 8) 8)
I would say 4512, for being the best Gemini at WB, in my opinion. It'll be even better when it comes back to WB
I'm adding my favourite bus, Central Buses' X233 NNO for a really loud and beastly engine powering up hills and I've never heard or seen it break down due to overheating (which I've had experiences on NXWM ALX400's).
Also I'm adding 4934 'Bethany-Grace' since I know a certain driver who loves it ;)
Diamond 30492- fast, smooth suspension, good interior
Nx- 6121, 5517, best new vehicles
NX: 4525, for having virtually no rattle and for making me resent AG for having it
4204 has the most jazzy tuned doors ever! It sounds like a Saxophone when closing :) Shame it is slightly out of tune.
Sadly has since been oiled... :(
Perry Barr's Wright Eclipse Gemini 4504 (which I call 'The Beast')! It's a fantastic Gemini! You can hear it coming from a mile away! It also seems to be in the best condition of any PB Gemini.
WV's 4544, 4588 and 4136 for all being fantastic tridents and being unique 4136 is the only WV Y reg have with the TWM Moqutte as to is 4588 the only WV BL04 plate trident with old TWM Moqutte and 4544 for having wood on the ad board on the bonnett
Perry Barr's 4481, 4487 and 4489 for sounding like Presidents when they pull away. 4481 sounds dead on like beastly 4089 when it pulls away!
West Brom's 4226 with a beastly gearbox and a half-arsed duck sounding bell.

4295 for its (beastly) howl.

4535 - 4564 begin with BL53
4588 is BU04BLJ.
They aren't the only Tridents at Wolverhampton with the TWM moquette.

4136 is or wasn't the only 41** Trident at WN with its original trim, 4133 also has its original trim.
Plus 4136 is now at Central.

4136 is now at WN seen on it the 79 Wednesday and I didn't know 4133 had it's oringal Trim till I saw it on Thursday
4601 is a very comfortable bus for nxwm
4548- Loudest sound when the accelerator is released 😍😍
This thread was collecting a bit of dust so I thought I could brush some off it.
I took 1796 to town today nothing special, but I like the engine sound. It makes like a "brrrrr" sound and it sounds a lot better when it is going at a decent speed. 1806 has this as well I don't know the term for it but I like buses who have an engine sound like that.
