I'd have liked to have seen something non Wolverhampton (and non shed) what with the hybrid already being there! Perhaps a newly refurbished Bordesley Omnilink might have done nicely or 4733 with its unique bumpers :P Still I am happy to hear NXWM and Central Buses both won awards today.

Or how about one of the recently refurbed Presidents? For example I saw 4111 yesterday on the 11A in Acocks Green village, and it still looks immaculate (since it's refurb in May), you wouldn't believe at first glance that it was a 13 year old bus!
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

That'd do nicely Stu but I can't see a President ever being chosen for showbus :(

I would've brought a Spectra, preferably 4001 ;)

Ashley 4566

4001 is iconic yes, but lets be honest, it looks like crap at the minute

Liverpool Street

4633/34 would be my choice.

Very smart, and smooth.

Only I'd redo the interior to as-new prior to Showbus.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

That would be because they're Euro 4 and therefore superior ;)

I know Matt ;) but with the ZF box they're definitely faster on pull off if I remember them both correctly.

However! You can NOT beat the original 43xx engines.. Cummins ISBe (or ISCe.. I must read more literature)? Flat six oil burner.

Trident 4609

LS, 4125-4404 (3 speed Voith),4405-4634 (5 Speed ZF), 4565-84 (4 speed Voith) have ISCe engines (Except the Euro 4 engined examples). The ZF Euro 4 tridents like 4586 have an ISBe engine like the Trident E400's. Don't know how i know this much ino though ;)

Next year every other garage should send their best vehicles (example., Wolverhampton E400H, Pensnett E200., Central 46xx trident, Walsall 935 branded E400, Ag newly refurbished President etc)

All opinions and onions mentioned on here are mine and not those of any employer, current, past, present or future, or presented as fact, unless I prove it otherwise.

That would be a bit too expensive, I think we did well to have 3 of today's vehicles going

There are a few B7TL Geminis in that batch you seem to have forgotten ;)

That's the ones. I did know all the specifications of the engines but old memory age sets in. Quite worrying really.

Gareth

Isn't Showbus going back to Duxford next year, or has that yet to be decided? If that's the case, NXWM may only send the one vehicle.

BU07 LGO

Spotted Tony leaving Yardley wood in his rover 45 if that count's to a bonus point after arriving on 3225!!
