Passed 1871 on the Expressway early this afternoon on the back on a tow truck stopped on the hard shoulder just before joining the M6. Off to get repaired

4444 is still at Perry Barr

Carlyle is repairing 1871 but needed the engine out to straighten the chassis, so it had been at BC to have the engine removed. Should be an AG 61xx at PB for RTC repairs as well

What is 5409 having done at PCS, Wootton bassett because it seem to be there for a while??

It was meant to be being converted from Hybrid to standard diesel as a trial, but as it's been there a year or more I think they must have taken it hostage...

To be honest if every vehicle conversion takes this long, the fleet will be withdrawn long before its finished.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

So is 5409 the first one to be converted from hybrid to diesel

Yes, it's been gone since November 2017 and there appears to be no sign of it returning at the moment!

It was reported a couple of months back in Buses Magazine that 5422 was being converted. When it first went, 5409 was being reported as 'off fleet strength' for a while - I wonder if it was planned to be quite this long??!!

I thought buses go to Pensnett Graveyard to fully depreciate, not PCS.

We can only guess why it's been so long! Some sort of dispute?

I suppose the main question is, do the bus(es) actually need converting from hybrid to standard diesel. Haven't we been here before, gas bus to standard diesel??

Yes, because the E400H's are unreliable / costly to maintain & at around the age they're age will mostly likely need their batteries replacing which is big money.

So are the Volvo B5LH better, or are they also unreliable and costly to maintain?
Will these also be converted?

Also does anyone know whats happened to 5505, it seems to have been away since last July?
Are NX going to convert all of the 48 Hybrids in the WM and Dundee fleets?

I had 4512/16-17 still at AG - but I presume they're now at WB.
